Alien. Yep, I went there. There is "aged poorly" and "outclassed by basically any half-decent horror film made in the last ten years", and Alien fit squarely into the latter for me. The atmosphere was extremely spotty and the scares weren't anything special. The only thing it did well was dodging some of the worse horror movie cliches. I chalk it up as one of those "you had to watch it when it came out" movies, as it's pretty bad by today's standards.

Apart from that, Paranormal Activity. It blows my mind that people actually think that it's a terrifying series. I want to sit these people down and show them a real horror film like The Others and watch their reaction.

Hmmm... About about "They"? Borrowed it from the library once. It was utter shit.

Paranormal Activity, although I will say it's the most realistic ghost film I've ever seen. Mainly because there were no ghosts in it and nothing fucking happened for ninety minutes.

"It" didn't really do anything for me. I find clowns inherently funny, and when the teeth came out, I was like "Oh look! They remembered it's a horror film!" It was a decent-ish film, but not particularly terrifying.

Leprechaun and Jeepers Creepers weren't that scary to me.

Not sure whether or not they'd fall under your definition of a ridiculously bad movie, though.

I think Killjoy fit's in to your description.

Not scary at all, cheesy, cliche, and totally shit.

Though I got to admit Killjoy himself looks kinda freaky.

He stares in to your soul!

Also, I find the whole concept of the leprechaun movies fucking hilarious (Especially Leprechaun in da hood). I can't even believe that they are even considered horror films.

Whispers. I'm not sure that's horror which is a bad thing I guess.

OK, best description ever, but true, nothing happens make it more realistic than anything else.

I hate jump scares. I find them useless in horrors movies. I am equally as started as an animal slamming into my door as I am about horror movies featuring jump scares.

Horror movies that aren't scary? Paranormal Activity is one of them I think.

Cabin in the woods however? That movie was amazing, even if it wasn't scary. :3

Even though most modern horror movies don't instill fear in me, they can usually still keep me somewhat interested or at least not confuse me about its genre.

I don't know why I had turned my TV on, as there is generally nothing but shit on it, but I once came across a movie called 'The Happening'. at the end, I seriously believed that I had just watched a parody of the horror genre and modern horror movies.

Turns out the movie was supposed to be a legitimate horror movie.

Not a movie, but I'll have to go with that old Goosebumps show.
I watched some of the episodes with my cousin recently and they're hilarious.
Same goes for that Nick show Are you Afraid of the Dark

Trick R' Treat.

God help me I wanted to love this movie. It's designed much like Sin City or the old Twilight Zone movie in that it's essentially an anthology of 3 or 4 short stories cut together to form one movie.

The basic idea is that each story is happening more or less simultaneously so you'll frequently see the characters from previous or later segments during the current story.

The problem is that it's just not scary. it's rated R but if you went through and edited out the 10 seconds worth of gratuitous tits it wouldn't even be a hard PG-13.

Prometheus. Great sci-fi, just not scary. At all.

I watched it again recently to. I'm still scared shitless by "Night of the Living Dummy III".
