Oh my god... the KF vs L4D bullshit is still going on? Just because they are both coop doesn't make it like a Rock Band vs Guitar Hero competition... I own both and they are both pretty different...

And for all those ignorant ones out there, the people who preordered L4D2 get the demo a week earlier... it isn't just those people that get it, they just get it earlier for preordering it... at least there is a demo for the game since those seem to be so rare for PC games now days...

It certainly hurts the developers if the majority of the playerbase pirates the game (see World of Goo, Demigod), drastically reducing actual sales, but it's certainly not the same thing as walking into someone's house, taking a TV they paid for, and making off with something they can't get back.

OT: I'd say get them both. L4D2 is going to look better, have a better story and characters, have more content, and have more involved gameplay, but Killing Floor has its own game mechanics that are quite appreciable. Plus you can play with more people. And it's a fun challenge to try Singleplayer. They're both worth the money.

As for the demo yeah it sucks it comes out a week early if you pre-order it but I know when I buy it I am going to love it even more then the original.

How about deeper gameplay? Characters that aren't annoying? Good graphics? More than 4 enemies? A campaign that offers more than Horde Mode/Nazi Zombies/etc. Playing as infected people?

Same goes for Yokai, just sadly buying both is not an option atm.

Both physical copies, but one is 90% cheaper than the other.

As you can see, that is just silly and impossible to do in real life.

That is why digital piracy is not comparable to a bunch of guys from Somalia with AKs giving themselves tours of cargo ships. Or a delinquent wishing to partake in the contents of your pockets by negotiating with a kitchen implement. Or a happy-go-lucky fellow climbing through you open window to help himself to a selection of your possessions - you know, like that guy behind you.

why not buy both? killing floor is a cheap game (£10)so buying both wont burn a hole through ur pocket and they are too different games killing floor is more about dispating the specimens in the most awesome way possible and l4d is heavy coop based survival having a deep reliance on team, where as one man in KF can win on his own.in short both fun and worth the money .

P.S ultimate ownage kf the mod is alot worse than the retail game and i've played both its got fewer weapons,less perks,less specimens,worse graphics i could go on all day in short get the retail version

I'm not saying it isn't a crime, but I also don't think anyone said anything about selling the copies. It looks like whoever started this spectacular thread derailment merely suggested he download a ripped version of the games and find out which one he liked better without spending money. This is without a doubt a bad idea, and I do question the guy's belief that that's the saner option than just buying it, but it's also not like he said to go out and purchase a pirated copy from some underground dealer either.

Yes, piracy is a problem, but in this case they were discussing a different sort of piracy than the one you're talking about. It's like if you punched someone, and were charged with manslaughter, then blamed for the world's violence in general. Not the greatest analogy I know, but I hope it gets the point across. Perhaps we should both stop before this thread goes any more off track.

It's made by Valve who, contrary to what most people on this forum would tell you, actually *gasp* LIKES MONEY! OH NO! GET THE FLAMETHROWERS! HE INSINUATED VALVE HOLDS A SIMILARITY TO MICROSOFT AND ANY OTHER BUSINESS THAT HAS EVER EXISTED ON THIS PLANET!!!!
No seriously though. Get killing floor. The first L4D is four short levels of bland, and if the second one follows up in the same way, there's only going to be one of those levels that anyone is willing to play. Killing floor is not great either, but I found it to be slightly more enjoyable and it only costs like, 15 bucks, so you don't get that feeling like you paid 50 dollars for 3 hours of game.
