I hope someone sane downloads something from your house. You don't need your TV, right?
Don't make me explain how retarded your analogy is.
Maybe it seems retarded to you because... Well, I can't say it, you know what I mean.
He questions the sanity of people that BUY LEGALLY things. So I ask him if it would be okay for me to just take his TV. Or "borrow" it from him, if you don't like when people are called "thief".
Seems simple to me - he gets something for free, something which costs $50. It is the same as if he swiped the game from a store or just stole the $50 and paid with it. He would harm someone else (the store he bought the game at - not the developers, they wouldn't feel it as badly as the store owners), but hey, don't go to the police if someone robs your house.
Uh...piracy wouldn't "harm" a store...keep in mind that it wouldn't involve a physical copy of the game, just data which can be duplicated infinitely. It certainly hurts the developers if the majority of the playerbase pirates the game (see
World of Goo, Demigod), drastically reducing actual sales, but it's certainly not the same thing as walking into someone's house, taking a TV they paid for, and making off with something they can't get back.
OT: I'd say get them both. L4D2 is going to look better, have a better story and characters, have more content, and have more involved gameplay, but Killing Floor has its own game mechanics that are quite appreciable. Plus you can play with more people. And it's a fun challenge to try Singleplayer. They're both worth the money.
