I'm just concerned that the best ideas have all been done already. The spitter = boomer and the charger = tank. Just variations... theme-wise, the exact damn same. Gameplay-wise, they are a little different and it'll make a big difference in the game itself. I just hope the new special infected get more creative. They've already made a special infected for damn near everything Resident Evil ever tried to do, but with less arbitrary eyeballs, tentacles and teeth everywhere.

If I recall seeing it correctly the charger is this really big guy in overalls that does exactly what it sounds like.

I find the special infected much less intimidating than the common. Maybe it's because Resident Evil has desensitised me to gory mutation, but I've found the Specials so far much less terrifying than that common in the trailer that had no lower jaw.


Valve are really upping the gore factor on this one. All the infected in L4D are largely 'complete' if that makes sense. But now it would seem that having your body roughly intact is no longer a requirement. I like, could get even messier.

Still, what Zombie movie is complete without chunks of fetid flesh flying about like festive confetti?
