The dialouge will only be good if the characters are likable like in L4D. Rather than GENERIC COACH, INTENSE JOURNALIST, HICK, CON ARTIST.

I'm pretty sure now all my fellow Zombie Hunters are looking in their group of friends to see who is their Francis, Zoey, or Bill. These are the icons. These are the characters that made a semi stale genre live again in a way that I could have only dreamed.
Their dynamic, their flow, their banter... How the hell can ANYTHING top what we had with the Survivors?
Puns or not, Left4Dead2 can have all the new weapons, infected (... ok, I'm really looking forward to the new infected), banter, and levels they want. Without the Survivors*, it will be just another game experience.
*Survivors meaning Zoey, Louis, Bill, and Francis, of course.

I'm defiantly going to miss the other characters, but I think I'm also going to welcome new ones. I'm sure they are just as memorable as most of valves other characters. Maybe they will even make a comeback, they haven't defiantly died yet.

I think it's like the zombine joke. Of course it isn't funny, that's why they put it in the game. If a couple of bad jokes are going to stop you from buying the game, then there is something seriously wrong. Also, didn't you notice the awful puns in the first Left 4 Dead? If Zoey picked up a molotov sometimes she would say "Time to start some fires." Dunno if it was a pun, but it sure as hell wasn't funny.
