What he said. There will always be world-class pricks online as well as assholes to accomadate them...and watch out when you get both in the same room. It's just unavoidable; best advice, mute them.

No one's attacked me yet but I have seen times where other players are just attacking each other or ganging up on one particular person. I normally just quit when I see that stuff go on.

Totally agree with you. Some players are just assholes, go to another serv, it's not worth to fight against them.

Heh, i was playin' with a pal last night, joined on the third level of the Dark Carnival Campaign. He was already playin' with 2 of his friends. Anyways, The one guy i knew eventually leaves. But i stick around. And this one dude, who i didn't know actually turns out to be a huge asshole shouting how i failed to help him whenever he got incap'd. Despite the fact i was the only one running to save him. Course i could barely hear him the whole time, because his mic was really quiet. So i spent the whole time wondering if i had heard him correctly or not. We get to the finale and he, of course, gets killed. He's yelling at me despite the fact i'm running to get the paddles. I get to his corpse right, then a hunter jumps me. Ellis (Bot Ellis) is already down. and Coach is on the other side of the concert area. But instead of asking coach why he didn't come over to save us (He actually made it onto the copter while i was being torn to shreds. He keeps yelling at me. And this time i can really hear him cause he's shoutin' like a madman.

What a dick. I went to save him. Never playin' with that guy again.

It's online games, people are fuckwits.

That happened to me yesterday actually. Some jerk called Jonny -something-(weste?) joined and immediately piped up that it wasn't a versus game. On being informed that it was co-op he insisted it was versus because the server name said so (the server has vs in it's name, normally it is), then immediately took an auto shotgun to another survivor's face. Supremely fast kick vote ensued.

It sounds like you dropped into someone's 'private' game they hadn't bothered to set as private, L4D players are especially stupid in this respect.
Excellent use of the word 'Fuckwit'
I myself can't seem to stop using 'douch cannoe' as a one shot.

Anyway yes PC seems to make the functionality (as far as kicking/ dedicating servers) easyer.
Its sad that XBL cant give honest deacent players the tools to deal with the douch cannoes.

I had a similiar thing happen on steam, we were on expert and we were all nearly dead, but sure why quit, we could find so health and it was still awsome?, but this guy as coach called a vote to restart it, we all voted him down(yay democracy!) and then rather then leaving the game, he shot us all dead as we headed on!!! Was the most petty thing I've ever seen! But as we bleed out we all voted to kick him, and were able to, and then the AI came an saved us and we completed the level without him :D was very satisfying

I wasn't there, but it sounds to me like the three people you wound up playing with might have known each other and you were the odd man out in their game so to speak. That's just a wild guess.
This.
But in my experience, L4D players (especially on XBL) are dicks. They'll TK you for no reason, and there are a lot of random "kick this person" votes. It's all very strange to me...

Modern Warfare 2 FTW!!!

Bad luck, mate.

OT: What's the noobish L4D behavior that bothers you the most? For me it's a tie between people in expert who use health kits before they're black and white and people in versus who will only play as infected.

You'll find assholes everywhere, but it seems especially bad in L4D. Probably the combination of easy TKing, the (relatively) stressful game environment, and the fact that if one person's screwing up, there's only 3 people to pick up the slack.

But all the same, the TF2 game environment feels like rainbows and sunshine by comparison (and I'm not just talking about art styles).

Xbox live or steam?

Not that it changes anything, you get assholes on both. Just call a vote to have jerks like him kicked next time, it works for me.

Also, if anybody's looking to kill some zombies with me, just ask and we'll trade steam IDs!

griefing can happen in any multi game, if its one person vote them out, or leave and join another game.

Wait, uhh, fill me up on this, in L4D2 / x360 there is some sort of rating system that tracks how much you fail, and in which some random person can "review" you?

Forgive my ignorance, but i think i will not get any sleep if i don't get an answer.

Hahaha, I had this one game in the shopping center, where when no zombies were around I kept getting damage marks whenever I picked up items, then after the part where you have to break through the shops windows, I pick up a lone pipebomb and find out it was the guy playing as nice putting a round of buckshot in my back everytime I took an item he wanted(I asked over mic if anyone wanted it first) so I lit him up with my M16, he went down, and me and one other started on again. The other hanged back to revive him, then he plugged us two with a grenade launcher; then the server disconnected us.

Also I was playing versus and still being relatively new, had jockey in hard rain and grabbed the last guy in that big building with the elevator. My team was all shouting hurray, then someone with a sniper scope picked me off and they kicked me for failing to hold onto them. There was a hunter, spitter, and smoker on the team for christ sakes, should have been watching my back.

This happened to me when I was carrying the gnome on dark carnival.

they shot me down, left the gnome and ran off, then when I asked a question along the lines of "wtf?!?!?!" one just retorted with "NUB" and then I saw a votekick against me (which indeed failed)

I really don't know why this happens...

Xbox 360 has a thing where you can look into other players profiles and give them a review based on their performance. You can applaud the person, or put him down as a person you don't want to play with. If someone gets enough cheating reviews and such, they'll even ban him from xbox live.
