Well, personally I think it does and I don't really see what that L4D2 boycott group is about. It has five new campaigns, new environments, new animations, new infected, new weapons, and new ammo types. I think that all sounds a bit large for a download. Im personally looking forward to it and I think it'll be a great game.

But tell me what you think.

*Oh and also Valve said they are still gonna add new content to the original soon*

Your title is a bit confusing. I dont get any of the complaints about Left 4 dead 2, it just seems like finicky fan complaints. If you dont want to buy the game thats fine, dont make it a point of letting everyone know that you are bitter because things didnt turn out the way you expected.
You don't 'get' the complaints? People saw how much love Valve was poring into TF2, and then L4D gets a sequel without any free DLC. So naturally people are a little irked.

"Damnit, I bought something from X, and did not receive something extra, yet the last thing I bought from X, they gave me a lot of stuff for free, rather than be grateful for what I did receive for nothing, I'd rather they applied the policy undeservingly to every other game I buy!"

Also, the title is confusing. It makes it seem like you are asking if Left 4 Dead 2 warrants a sequel. If that was the actual question. Yes, it does, bring on L4D3

I think if you don't like the idea of Valve releasing L4D2 when they've done nothing for the original L4D in terms of content, then don't buy it.

Simple economics.

Left 4 Dead is probably the most prefered of my 360 games, but the first thing that came to mind when I heard about a the sequel was that it doesn't really seem like a sequel is necessary to me. It just seems to me that there's not a whole lot they could add that could justify breaking out the wallet again.

However, first impressions aside, I suppose under further thought there is quite a bit of potential for the sequel. I've always thought in the original that the Versus mode leaves a little to be desired in the way of fluidity of play (Yahtzee hit the nail on the head, I believe, with the suggestion of playing as one of the Horde whilst waiting for the respawn of the Special Infected, which struck me as an ingenius solution). New Special Infected is an area where they have a lot of freedom to expand the game beyond the generic "New weapons, new locations" trick for a quick sequel.

Overall, I can see problems arising, if they mess it up with gimicks and too little advancement, but I have to say from the way the team have pulled off the first game I have quite a bit of faith it can be a worthy follow up to the game.

Well, if they package it with the original L4D, I don't think I could resist...
Still, L4D was great, but Valve promised to the fans that they'd get more content, and they've failed to deliver. I think they feel like they've been insulted is all.

L4D 2 should in my oppinion be more like an expansion to L4D. You open the same game but can choose different games, New Orleans or (insert L4D town here). That would to me be the most sane. Also give the new gameplay tweeks to original L4D

The real problem people are having with it is the game, while it is looking nicely polished (now), the game itself still feels unfinished to me and the other people I play with. We fell like they promised more than we got, and feel cheated that we're gonna have to pay for a whole new game when the current one could do so much more. Now, that being said, the new AI Director 2.0 sounds amazing, changeable paths for the survivors will extend the new game's life, and I know you can't just add that as DLC. I'm not happy about it, but I'll buy it anyways.
