In all seriousness though, well... Yeah. They're milking these other games while they make you wait for the one you actually want. Hell, even Portal is getting a second installment after some DLC.

Well, I grabbed my mail today and was excited to see a new GameInformer in the box. While flipping through, I noticed a small article about Valve announcing Left 4 Dead: 3.

I'm usually not one to bring this kind of thing up, but this is for all of you Valve fans out there. You are no longer allowed to, rightfully, gripe and complain about how Halo, CoD, and Final Fantasy are "milked" franchises. Left 4 Dead is on its third installment now and it has been... what? Hardly a year and a half?

So, I ask you, what do you think of this? Is Valve wrong in releasing yet another Left 4 Dead game? Especially after the oh so successful *cough cough* petition and boycott of the previous game.

Did you actually read the article? LOL. Or the one about Mass Effect 3 letting you import any character from any game ever? Or the Darksiders sequel where you get to run around in a Super Monkeyball? It is an APRIL issue!

Not comparing them stylistically or anything, but the Left 4 Dead series is quickly becoming what the Saw movies are to the movie industry- one new installment of the same thing each year. I mean I'm all for shooting zombies in the face with a shotgun, but yeah proving that they can crank out work like this does make one curious why Episode Three is taking so long since they are running on the same engine. I'm be nice though and just say, "Hmm, it's probably because the storyline is so much more engrossing and complicated in Half-Life."

And now that Portal 2 has more or less been announced, I'm really expecting the announcement of a second Orange Box.

Still, I think it's about time we all start placing bets on the setting and characters in this game.

Well, I was hoping Left 4 Dead 2 would be done like Team fortress 2.
One of the things I had hoped was a major thing that'll be brought to L4D2, the constant updates.

As far as I know we can rest assured it will not come yet.

One of the lead dev's of L4d2 said that the AI director is not yet able to do what they want (individual action of every zombie without killing your computer's CPU) and they did not >>> Want <<< to do l4d3 before that.
So unless they changed their minds I doubt it, especially with Portal 2 coming up.

Why yes, I did read the article. That being said, it is March here. Not April. Therefore, I am not in the mindset of April, therefore, playing an April Fool's prank in March only works to confuse me. Especially seeing as there is no month on the cover telling which month the issue is for.

No, I am not going to read everything in the issue. I browse GI because I much prefer other gaming magazines.

Now, I do admit that it is a hoax article, but seriously? Its fucking March. March 12th at that. April wont be here for another nineteen days.

I love how there's a whole bunch of posts being made now that still think it's a serious announcement. Heh.

Although that game could be kinda cool.

Also I don't mind them taking another 2 years on ep 3, so long as it is damn good. I don't want an earlier release at the expense of quality.

Good. Was gonna say that I probably wouldn't play it anyway. Played L4D about 100 hours, but L4D2... I played through each campaign in single player then really lost interest in the game... guess it was kind of a waste of money...
