I really liked the new content. I usually play with people from work and we usually run through most campaigns in 45 to 60 minutes on expert.
Yesterday three of us + 1 new guy played it on Advanced and it took us an hour, even though there were only two maps. We're eager to do an expert run tonight, see how long that will take us.

One thing we noticed was that (on advanced) the Director spawned weapons every 100 meter or so, which was a bit odd. Hopefully on expert it'll be less lenient :p

I feel sorry for the 360 owners that have to pay for a 2 part (rather than 4) short map that's far weaker than the other maps. I just ran through it and it's not as good as I was hoping for

Yeah it was a good update. Meant to go to bed much earlier last night but ended up playing this. Shame it was not 5 parts. but still good in all. Probably have more fun on harder setting and some friends.
Weapons and ammo was very frequent on medium, which made it even easier. Although their was a lot of special zombies to keep me going. Was not really overwealmed on the finale escape either. Just manned the gatling gun and the AI characters took care of what i missed.
Still waiting on Episode 3 Valve come on.

Four copies of the game for only $45 bucks? When one copy is normally priced at $30?

That is a wicked good deal!

Too bad I don't have 3 friends who want the game :(

Does this mean I'll be able to download it on my XBox? Like now?

This news pleases me greatly!

[EDIT] I thought Valve said that DLC for Left 4 Dead was going to be free? oO Have I been misinformed/misunderstood?

I keep feeling that Valve promised more than they could deliver - or at least instead of delivering what was promised for L4D they're putting all that stuff in L4D2.

I feel like a douchebag for expecting "More free stuff" but I can't help but feeling dissapointed.
^ This.

To be fair, the main issue we have with Valve is a small one, as they're still giving us a lot of stuff for free when every other developer out there pumps this stuff out and charges for each update *glares at the Sims*.

The map is pretty decent. Insanely hard to survive through both sections on versus, but otherwise pretty fun and the streamlined experience they promised.

honestly i was just about to buy it again, its that good a deal, also the new crash course is kinda small and lacks some charm, most of it just seem like copy pasting from the old missions, but its free and 20 min long, perfect for a quick run before work, oh and maybe i was just unlucky but when i tried it we encountered 4 witches in those 20 min on normal.

It's definitely a good thing to see, and I'm happy that Valve has actually released content...

But now they need to fix the item/enemy spawn bugging that has occured because of it. On one playthrough of the first map of Crash Course I found...

6 Molotovs, 8 Pipe Bombs, 3 full Tier 2 weapons piles and 2 partial piles (not including the one at the climax event). I also found no fewer than 8 (that's right, eight) spare pistols and 8 individual instances of pills. Not to mention a full half dozen ammo caches.

All on the first map, without looking off of the 'path'.

It doesn't make it unplayable and it is enjoyable (albiet mediocre). If they fix the few bugs that are in place, it will be a good first step for L4D DLC.

£12.50 on my client, guess that's part of our EU tax =_= I love Valve products and all, but that still pumps my nads.

This is just the opportunity I've been waiting for though, they've still made a sale.
Wait: Valve has been injecting you with bull shark testosterone?

I kid, I kid. I guess I'll have to re-download the game... probably after uninstalling Arkham Asylum to make room.
