L4D2 for every thing apart from Rochelle and Nick. Loved the entire original cast, but for some reason they didn't have as much charm this time around.

L4D2 easily. Yeah it's brutally difficult and incredibly infuriating at times but the sheer variety of death you can deal out is immense. Plus, I wubs my magnum.

L4D2 has much more stuff in it, versus mode is a lot more than just "barf on a bunch of people, then have your friends pummel whoever isn't barfed on," the characters have more personality, there are a lot more choices (do I take the shotgun and the deagle, or the frying pan and the SMG?) the campaigns are also much better I think, especially in Hard Rain with all the, um, rain, and Dead Center's burning building , and the Parish's "holy shit they're bombing us fuck"

Left 4 Dead 2. It's such an improvement on the first. More game modes, more weapons, more zombies. And it's much harder. See, Valve took everything that was wrong with the first one and improved it for the second one. It was probably mostly to just point in the faces of the boycotters and yell "HA!" but I think we're all very thankful anyway.

Games are never officially badass until they get an AK.

A machine gun with a chainsaw on the front beats out an AK-47 any day.
Except in the apocalypse the total lack of gas stations just makes your weapon silly.

Scratch that, a guy wielding a machine gun chainsaw that is out of gas is obviously bat shit crazy and still wins hands down in a people you don't tease contest.

Left 4 Dead 2 since they fixed the teeth-gratingly irritating server issues.

New Infected, new campaigns, new weapons and gameplay mechanics.

What's not to love?

I'd have to go with L4D2. More gore, better characters, and melee weapons.

And Ellis's "Keith" stories are friggin' hilarious.

L4D2, it might be the same idea again, but its done so much better than the original. Apart from maybe the campaigns, but a mod has fixed that now anyway.

Oh, and Ellis.

L4D2 is a major improvement over L4D1. Decapitating zombies with frying pans and guitars is awesome, and the chainsaw makes me feel like Bruce Campbell. Most fun I've ever had with a zombie apocalypse!

Dumb thread. Really dumb thread.

The answer is obviouse. Everyone agrees that Left 4 Dead 2 is a vast improvement on the first game.

The real question is whether the improvement is worth £40-£50.

It depends on how much you play L4D, if you dont play it that often, then its not really worth it, but if your a fan then the answer would probably be "yes"

L4D2 improved on the original in just about every way. The graphics, gameplay, new setting, more weapons, new special infected, fresh main characters and more. L4D has a certain charm to it, but I will say L4D2 gets my vote.

I crave for more l4d2 with about 80hours clocked, I got bored for ages after the first 30 in 1 (though after a break I did play it a lot again)

Well, actually, smacking someone with that blade if you run out of ammo would do some damage, even if the blade wasn't running.

OT: Only played 2 L4D2 campaigns, but it seemed far more superior. Better characters, better weapons, better tactics need, everything.

Not a fan of either of them, but I'll go for the second one because it has an AK47.

Give me a G36c over an AK any day. The AK in L4D2 is bad ass though, especially with a laser.
