Rent one buy the other. I suggest renting call of duty because it has an amazing campaign that can be done in 2 days but unlike L4D's amazing campaign it isn't very replayable (same thing over and over again.)

1. If you're not playing with people you know in real life, play on expert. It forces people to play together much more than the idiots on normal mode.

NO! Stop, play on advanced until you learn the game, Then play on expert.
Way too many people play expert without a clue and it really shits me ><

After like one run through on each on normal to get the achievement I'd say you're ready.

Ready to be a Zombie magnet and die, making the entire squad use up their healing items trying to save you.....*twitch*

Why not just play the demo?

On PC the demo is closed (to me at any rate), you have to buy the game now.
