SO LONG SUCKERS WHO DIDNT BUY THIS GAME, have fun with stupid old Cid while I play a game with the bitchin Lavits(until that is...)

...It- it's not up there?
Awww...
Hahahah. No, it isn't. I was looking for it recently. Apparently a LOT of people hated it, so Square Enix scrapped it. But it has a large cult following. I remember spending hours just leveling up to beat the first boss of Disc 1, only to realize everything else in Disc 2 was much tougher lol. Oh, and buying Kongol's Dragoon Spirit, only to end up never using it because it wasn't that great. -.-
They didn't scrap it the storyline got bought by a 3rd party who has never followed up on it but the game was incredible!
No, i thought it was SquareSoft that made it. My mistake. But by scrapped it, I mean they dropped it altogether, as in: Didn't want to make more or any additions to it. Know what I mean?
The rights were sold to a 3rd party and they had issues that kept them from creating a 2nd game saddly enough.
That's complete bollocks though. Someone should snatch the rights to the game and make it better, if possible. I just hope that if they remake it they don't ruin it...

lol I know, right? FF7 wasn't that great of a game anyways. It was good, but it is WAY too overrated and milked by Square.

And I try to enjoy Disc one with Lavitz for as long as I can. Hell, as soon as I got Albert I refused to use him unless forced to.

I agree with it but I wish the guy that killed him was in the party longer... He was actually my favorite character. Can't remember his name for the life of me Leon or whatever...

I agree but it would require some change in the copyright law. I'd love to see something similar enough to get away with it if nothing else.

Hahah, you mean Lloyd? Lloyd was never in the party. He joined forces at the very end but he fought Melbhu Frahma all on his own. I WISH you could have him in your party. It was so grand.

He was techincally in the party at the end I only say that due to the way the script had to be written for him to show on the side he did. Limitations of the gaming engine so to speak.

He really did have something unique about his character.

He did. He was my favorite too, behind Dart. He had a touching background too. He wasn't even really a villain. More like an Anti-Hero. Because without him, in the end, they all would have died. If he hadn't given Dart the Divine Dragoon Power (Which was the bossest Dragoon power in the game. I LOVED it. And you don't realize how enormous it makes Dart until the end cutscene.) I have to say, I loved Zieg too. I wish you could have used him more often.

Well the game is overrated and honestly not brilliant (the gameplay had some INFURIATING flaws such as limited character inventory and the addition system was pretty dull) but the story was pretty good and the graphics were nice for the time, especially the eye-popping FMVs of the Dragoons in action. I'm constantly surprised that Sony never tried to make a sequel or prequel as the concept had a lot of mileage and room for improvement in it.

I didn't like how tiny he was in the fight then giant he was out of it but beyond that yea! It was really somewhat sad how it went down... Even how the dragoon soul didn't resonate with him. I didn't really like dart that much as a character he seemed too much like every other hero in games from the time...

Still the story in this really was only matched by xenogears (and you saw how horribly they raped it's prequel I'm guessing...) I'd love to see some new stories get into the spotlight this was a rare case because the guy with the idea wasn't a big name. Right now it's hard to get a game into production without a big name attached to it...

What I call brilliant is a game that goes completely away from its counterparts in terms of story this was a one time masterpiece in a lot of ways but it did have flaws.

If you got the wargod amulet you would feel like the additions were just boring but making those hits count was what made the battles unique for me I love timing games and a mini-game like that had some allure.

I agree that the character inventory and a few windows could have been built better but ff8 and other games from the same time frame had bigger problems than it did. And they all lined the street with the same story with different names and 2 or 3 twists. Even now SE admitted they don't know where to send the FF series and it's due to the pool being dried up and no new ideas entering. This game was a chance at opening some of those doors but it got overshadowed by a game with a huge name and little steam...

I'm happy with just the one game. I really don't think there should be a sequel
I think it would be hard not to ruin the series like the xenosaga game did...

That's one way to look at all of em saddly enough the biggest thing that these games had that we don't have now (other than an actual story to play through and a diverse and believable history) is that god awful battle menu action > type > target in that way they all were the same...

I remember this just because Game Informer did a little special on it in one of their issues last year. It seemed like a pretty cool game

It remains one of my favourite games to this day. And it really deserves a remake; it was much better than any of the Final Fantasy games.

Mind you, VIII came close.

I honestly liked the limited inventory. It made you think a bit smarter and was kinda needed when the basic healing item restored 50% of your life

I wasn't trying to take away from Legend of the Dragoon as much as point out the major weakness of turn based gameplay.

Halo had a good story you're an enhanced soldier without a face to your name trying to stop the end of life due to a zealously religious group of aliens you need to kill to stop. . . I think I just covered the entire storyline minus subplots. . .

FFXIII had it's own special kind of insult associated with it... Seriously would be nice to have game developers treating us like we are somewhat intelligent and want to THINK now and then... Average gamer is 35 not 12!

Does anyone remember this old game for the PSone? It is 2010 and I STILL find this to be the best games for PSOne. I think they should make a sequel, or maybe even a prequel. Or, hell, just recreating it? Maybe even put it up to buy on the Playstation Store.

What are your guys' thoughts?

EDIT: I was wrong, and fixed it. It was not made by Square Soft, and I deeply apologize.
HELL YES! I would be on that train of development thought like South Park on an inappropriate joke. I would be willing to sign a petition for that game to come out. That was a great game and I would do almost anything to see it brought back.
