RPS has their Wot I Think out, and it's pretty glowing:

Anyone else interested in this? I tried to boot up Bard's Tale a week or two ago to do some old school grid based adventuring, and I found it had aged past the point where my nostalgia was able to power me through the experience. This game seems like it might scratch a similar itch. It even has an old school mode where you can do your own maps with graph paper, which I will NOT be partaking of, but which makes me smile with fondness nonetheless.

At $11.99 it's hovering near "impulse purchase" territory as well.

Plus, look at this thing. It's some kind of mushroom man. Tell me you wouldn't pay $11.99 to hit it with an axe.

I'd prefer to hit that mushroom man with some kind of fire spell.

I hadn't started gaming yet when dungeon crawls were popular, but I'd say as long as there's a decent story and characters, I wouldn't mind getting it (or is that against the definition of these sorts of games? Not really sure).

I tried getting into Wizardry a short while ago, but I just couldn't play it. This game reminds me of wizardry definitely, but I can't really feel any appeal towards this game unfortunately.

However it seems like a game definitely worth having a look at for anyone who was into these kinds of games.

Really interested in this one - it looks like it does a lot of really interesting and (at least in 2012) unique stuff.

This looks right up my alley; I've been hankering for a good dungeon crawler as of late.

Can't argue with that price either, no sir.

Pre-ordered at GoG.com

Really excited for this one. It has a story to contextualize the gameplay, but it's definitely an older style of dungeon crawler that focuses on exploration and puzzle-solving, not character-driven narrative. The movement and combat are certainly different and more limited (c'mon, they're a tiny indie team), but the underlying design comes from the same old-school place as games like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls if you're looking for contemporary comparisons.

I had some interest in the game before but this video pushed it into the buy territory especially since there was mention of not only expansion content by the devs but also a level editor and user created content as well.

I damn near squealed when I saw this on GOG. I loved Dungeon Master, even though I was awful at it as a kid. It pains me that I cut myself off from buying games recently, I want to play this so bad.

It's only $12. Surely you can cut $12 from somewhere.

Don't tempt me, my game backlog is already huge. Plus my card stopped working on GOG, something to do with them being overseas. I couldn't get Anachronox either, it was a sad day.

Well this is a sad tale. Look at this troll. He's crying. Crying, because you won't come and play with him.

If you need to discipline yourself, by all means, put off buying games for awhile, but your card should work if you call their (your card provider's) security line and confirm that you are the one placing orders with this specific overseas company. Or have new "import" restrictions been created where you live?

I should have specified, I am talking about a gift card. I asked for a specific brand of gift card in lieu of cash for Xmas, since last year I had successfully bought some stuff from GOG. But it seems they have changed their policy, and it no longer works internationally. Only $5 left on it now though, so its a moot point either way.

The story of the game reminded me of your plan to send people to monster island. That made me laugh a lot.

A friend pointed this game out to me about 10 mins ago and I bought it for steam, can't wait to play. :D

I pre-ordered as soon as it was possible. I never played the Dungeon Masters and Eye of the Beholders "back in the day", but after playing Etrian Odyssey and The Dark Spire on the DS, I got really interested in the genre. I did try Dungeon Master after those, but I never got very far. I can't wait to play this one.
