Supposedly, it's going to animated not live action. Let's just hope he who must not be named doesn't get a hold of this.

Why what's the worse that could happen if it was live action...oh right.

Anyway, that's great! The more Avatar we get, the better it is. I suspect that enough Avatar would actually cure cancer, AIDS, and would unlock immortality. So, we just need to get more and more of it, until my theory is confirmed.

I would have thought they try to release the series outside of the US first. But, hopefully this turns out good too.

So long as Bryke are neck deep in the production, I have faith it will turn out well.

Otherwise, cautious optimism.

On July 1, 2010 I walked outside of a movie theater after seeing an Avatar Movie. I was breaking out in a cold sweat, and had to reach for a cigar to calm myself down. I drove home in a zombie like state. The world around me didnt even seem to move. There were no other lifeforms around me.

I finally made my way to my bedroom, and look down at my collection of Avatar: The Last Airbender dvds. I stood there, transfixed. Then I cried. For days, I cried, pounding my fist into the ground until it bleed. When I walk out of my room on the Forth day I uttered two words, and only two words.

"Never again"

"they want to keep budgets around $100 million or less"

Easy now paramount, do you really have that kinda money to throw at a legend of Korra movie? props to you, if they do make it i'll be happy but honestly i never understood movies of cartoons currently in progress. I mean the movie is what? an hour? 2 hours long? why not just add it into the show as a chapter arc? why the urge to make it a movie?

Hopefully it will be better than the tv series, but seeing as the managed to turn the original into a steaming pile of crap I highly doubt it.

My guess is that making a block-buster movie could actually make more money than a succesfull TV series, if your movie does well you immediately make a lot of money as opposed to getting payed per season by nickleodeon.

on the other hand, maybe this would work more as a self-contained story instead of an arch, keeping in mind the show is overshadowed by the Aang storyline for as long as it shall live.
it will be incredibly difficult to improve on that without making the same kinda story again.

Hrm. Film huh? Would rather see the series actually develop a little bit. Right now, I dont think theres anything to really justify a film. I mean it was an decent season but really it wasnt all that great. Made for a good summer series, but I dont even think it holds up to TLA, much less warrants a film.

Maybe after there has been more development, but I think its WAAAY too early to be planning something like this, especially considering they are looking at 3 more seasons for the show.

I prefer the Avatar series as a series, it allows for greater character development, and thus a deeper, more enthralling story, if they were to release the film as the climax of the LoK series I think I'd be cool with that.

Personally I'd prefer them making a movie about "The Promise"
But a Korra movie is fine too, gotta wonder what it's going to be about though, they kinda fast tracked through the story board in one season.

I don't really like this idea. Even before the first movie came out I was sceptical how an entire series of Avatar could be fit in to one movie. I also don't really trust anyone to do it justice apart from the people who do the show. Maybe if they got them to do it they might make something good, but otherwise I'm kind of against the idea.

Seems kind of premature, we've only had one 'book'!

I'd really like to see a(n animated) movie made of grown-up Aang and co's adventures, it'd make a nice bridge between the series.

In fact, I'd still also really like a live action Last Airbender, just... you know... a *good* one.

EDIT:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! I need to check it out (Guess that counts as being ninja'd...) EDITEDIT: Or not too much, 'cause I guess they're not that old in 'The Promise'.
