Does anyone remember this game and love it like I do? Some say the game is a huge rip off of FF VII but I think the game clearly has some awesomeness of its own. A remake or sequel would be really amazing although probably will not ever happen. oh well good times :')

I remember it, I was young and forgot the plot halfway through. Thought the dragoon forms were awesome though

Got it not that long ago, I was lucky to get it because it's the first time I had ever seen the game in stores anywhere. It's a good RPG.

Fun game and definantly not a 7 rip-off. The gameplay is too much of a contrast to be that. If anything.. it rips off super mario rpg: legend of the seven stars

That really was an amazing game, but there were a few points where it was easy to get stuck. (basically a bunch of really hard bosses) Besides that, it's still one of my top ten games ever. I honestly think that it's better than FF VII.

It's probably my favourite game of all time, and second in most time played. I even ripped the discs to my computer so I can play it on my laptop anywhere I want. Definitely some of the best storytelling and character developement in ... anything I've seen/read/played. And a combat system that at least keeps your attention focused and requires real skill. I would love to see sequel or remake, or at the very least other games very similar to it. Do any exist?

I still have my copy of it :D

It is an absolutely amazing game and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It's certainly no rip-off of FFVII as they're nothing alike in both gameplay OR story.

The only and main problem I have with the game is the dialog. There are just SO many spelling mistakes and rather weirdly written lines (well, when you have as bad a gutter-mind as me, having a young female fighter say "Oh! My body feels so hot inside!", among other lines...)

What I wouldn't give for a remake of the game. A sequel might work, or at the very least a game with a similar concept/battle system with a different story. As for the latter question, not that I know of. I don't think any games have even attempted to copy the style that is Legend of Dragoon.

Used to have it. I got rid of it for reasons I do not remember. I do remember not being able to beat it though. I was stuck on disk 4 where you fight that butterfly monster thing...

Loved this game! It's still my favorite and I've probably spent more hours playing this game then any other.
I don't see much resemblence to FFVII other then the fact that both main characters have blond spiky hair.

I grinded huge until I could afford those (5k?) amulets of auto-trigger the time events. I think it denied me criticals, but I was always missing them anyway. I think I quit half way through.

It was an amazing game, I dont think it could have been a rip on FF, dont see how, the plot wasnt even remotely similar to 7. I remember getting stuck in the sand dune area for what seemed like forever, because I didnt know the right way to go. Regardless, I treasure it as one of my first times trying a turn based rpg, and so glad it was a great one.

I remember that game had amazing cut scenes for the PS1. I never beat it but I was on the last boss. I still have a copy of the game. Too bad my memory card got wiped and I just don't have the time to get back to where I was. The combat was refreshingly different the story wasn't that bad either.

Not even close to an FF7 rip off and if anything I remember the commercial that made fun of itself. I never got to play it in full but I remember that it has a great storyline, a great interactive combat system for its time and good graphics.

I think they were called God Amulet or something. I believe they were 10k each and I did that too. Why go for critical hits and miss half the time (not to mention not being able to level up the harder additions) when you can help almost every time for a slightly lowered attack power.
Simple economics :p

I remember playing that game. :)

It was amazing. Never got to beat it though. :(
My cousin accidentally stepped on one of the discs and it was never replaced.
I would love to play it again and beat it this time. :3

I still have the game. It was a great game from the golden age of JRPGs. I wished the game had a less linear storytelling, but that's Japan... they don't believe in choices. Sadly, the game has little replay value because of it, once it's completed, it's over. The girl with blue hair was fuckin annoying too. All in all, a great game with some flaws that prevented it from ascending into a masterpiece in my opinion. They shouldn't have given up on the IP, they had something to build on for more than one game.

He may have been a wuss, but he was a hard wuss to catch. I spent an entire disc and a half trying to catch that bastard.

I'd say it was pretty good, at least until those terrible voice-acted cutscenes that came up once or twice per disc. (remember the days a game could be 4 discs long and no eyebrows were raised?) Pretty good story, combat in which I got to push buttons, and a largely redundant magic armor button I only considered in boss fights, which a certain boss...
...Lloyd, would-be inheritor of the divine dragoon armor, teaches us is not a good thing to rely on, killing a dragooned character instantly with, if memory serves, a magic bullshit sword. I had wondered where Seymour Guado got his ideas...

Fun times, I'd say.
