I never played it, but I can safely say that my brother completely ruined it for me anyways by spoiling plot twists. Not that I was particularly interested in the game, but that's just annoying. Xenogears is currently suffering the same fate.

I do wish SCE could go more into making RPGs. LocoRoco and Patapon are great games and all, but they seem more than competent enough to make a good RPG.

Can't see the corralation between Final Fantasy and Legend of Dragoon, really. Two different stories.

I'd say it was pretty good, at least until those terrible voice-acted cutscenes that came up once or twice per disc. (remember the days a game could be 4 discs long and no eyebrows were raised?) Pretty good story, combat in which I got to push buttons, and a largely redundant magic armor button I only considered in boss fights, which a certain boss...
...Lloyd, would-be inheritor of the divine dragoon armor, teaches us is not a good thing to rely on, killing a dragooned character instantly with, if memory serves, a magic bullshit sword. I had wondered where Seymour Guado got his ideas...

Fun times, I'd say.
Don't forget about the Divine Dragon fight. Yeah, let's make it to where we can't transform so we can slightly weaken it! Facepalm.

The only really disappointing thing is that, in Dragoon form, it's easy to get killed (can't use healing items, and Miranda/Meru are annoying and I don't want to use them in combat, so no healing magic).

It's still a superb game, I had a ton of fun with it.

I loved that game, I could never beat it because something was wrong with my disc 4.

I don't think a sequel would work because it's so old, but a remake would be beyond bad ass.

When cleaning, from time to time I'll spin the broom around and shout HARPOON at the top of my lungs. Always draws a few glances from my wife and son, but that doesn't stop me.

Ah, good times...

The only criticism I had of it was the way it handled magic and items.

I'm ok with not allowing much magic unless in Dragoon form. It makes magic seem more awesome when it is used and you could fill up a bar of the meter in two or three attacks. Even just one attack for some attacks. But if items are the only way we can heal up OR use magic OR cure status ailments OR pretty much do anything besides attack or guard... give us a bit more inventory room will ya? Or at least like: 15 healing/curing items. 15 attack/support spells.

The battle system was so simple yet so fun. It really adds a lot to a turn based game if you have a little system like that to go along with it. Even if the voice acting was a bit... terrible.

Lavitz: GUST of WIND, DANCE. or my favorite... HARPOOOOON!

Poor Lavitz, he will be missed. I still say CRUSH DANCE from time to time because Dart says it like such a spaz. I used that combo for the rest of the game.

I loved Legend of Dragoon! Played through the entire game when it was first released and then at least twice more in later years. I picked it up at a used game expo about a year ago and had one final go at it over a weekend at a friend's place.

I miss the old days, but then I throw in Demon's Souls and tell myself that the JRPG market isn't all that bad. Thank you Extra Credits. Haha.

I remember maxing out the additions for each character. Except Kongol. He was far too slow in combat.

Didn't max out all the dragoon forms either. But I did get all the Stardust.

Went kind of obsessive on that one.

i never saw the ending....

i bought it recently original and played it in my PS3, but still encounter the "error" when i try to swap a disc, i have to turn the console off and on again, i hated that.

I did the stardust thing during one playthrough. I remember being very disappointed. It wasn't worth it.

I have my copy of it and plan on playing it again soon. My original play through I only made it 13 hours or so before I stopped, for reasons I've long forgotten. I remember the game fondly though, the little I've played.

I love that game! Never beat it but bought a new one online recently, I'm stuck for now at that second divine dragon fight, and havent been playing it recently. Who owns the rights to it cuz one day I will remake it, its just a matter of time.

Yeah, I remember it. One of my favourite PlayStation games of all time, in fact. Got a copy sitting less than ten meters away :)

I would certainly love to see a modern remake/sequel, but we all know it's never going to happen. It's a pity because it had some interesting game mechanics (namely the Dragoon and addition systems) which, while not perfect, were a lot of fun. I liked the story and characters too.

The game was difficult, but that's why I played it. Making the character pull off ridiculous combos in combat was awesome. Hated the "Dance of Roses" one.

Hmm... haven't tried that game in ages. Didn't like it back then, so I doubt I'd like it now. The whole timed attacks thing bugged me, the dialogue was uninteresting, and the music ranged from generic to downright annoying(that god damned menu tune). I think I got to the beginning of disc 2 before I called it quits.

Also, why does dialogue trip the spell check?
