That's right. Leonard Nimoy, famed for being a geek icon as Dr. Spock, is retiring for good this October. After 5 full decades of culture-forming, he's not only quitting acting, but conventions as well. He's earned it, and I wish him well in his retired years.

Wow that's amazing. I thought the average retiring age now was 97, or you know death.

Amen to that, I think he's due for a rest. I salute him for his massive contribution to Star Trek and I hope he enjoys a few more years in comfort and peace.

The dude certainly deserves it. 50 years of acting? The amount of influence he's had on our culture.

Have a sweet live, Nimoy.

I remember hearing about this a few months ago, doesn't make it any less sad. I'm just glad I saw him at Comic-con in Phoenix when he was there in May, the whole thing was so bittersweet.

Live long and prosper Nimoy, you deserve it.

I BLAME THIS ON KHAN!!!!!!!

OT:This is good to hear he has gone beyond what people would expected of a actor and we thank him for many years of entrainment.

That's MISTER Spock, not doctor. Doctor Spock was a quack/pop child psycologist at about the same time.

50 years of ST, 60 years of acting.
Right on both accounts. The dude is, needless to say, completely batshit awesome. And also not a doctor.

Well about time. The guy needs to actually have some time to himself, not to his obsessive personal following XD

Live long and Prosper Nimoy.

He doesn't need to retire! He can transfer his heart into the body of a young and able successor whose heart is clouded with darknes- oh, wait, never mind. I'll miss his voiceover work, but he's earned some rest, all right.

Been playing too much Birth By Sleep...
