Personally I don't care about Mass Effect 3, but for all of those who do I wish you the best and hope you will enjoy it a lot. I know how it feels to be excited for a new title and I hope you wont be let down.

For all you Europeans griping about not getting it for another three days: Stop it. ME3 may be a little further in the future, but y'all get The Avengers movie a week before we do.

It all evens out.

Back on topic: I can't wait to get this game. Unfortunately, I have no money, my Xbox is back home, and I'll be spending spring break away from home. It'll be another month or so before I finally get to play it.

Who gives a shit if you piss people off? Let them wring their hands and cry their irrelevant *****-tears about it. You're excited for a release, you want to talk about it, and so do lots of other people. Make all the threads and posts you want.

OT: I'm very excited for the release, but I unfortunately have the sheer audacity to live outside North America, so I have to wait 'till the ninth to play it. I'll be buying it first thing in the morning though, possibly at midnight if I can find a store with a midnight launch.
This post was comparable to the speech the Aragon gave in the third Lord of The Rings movie.

OT: Excited, but a little miffed when I heard that unless your love interest were Ashley, Miranda, or Blue Chick that I can't recall the name of, the importance was going to be seriously downplayed.

But hell, there was some unusually awesome dialogue in the new trailer, so I'm a little excited.

Then again, the last game's trailer was also rather cool, but I think that was the reason I was very much let down.

Here's a tip, if the plot structure is common enough to have a TvTrope [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EndOfAnAge] describing it, it's not original enough to label anything as "stolen".
Here's a tip back: my point was they took the general way reapers now work (which is several tropes combined in a certain way) and cribbed it from how tyranids work.

And, on Divergence Eve: let's see, main character is a soldier in an elite unit that has a link to a mysterious precursor species/entities that created hyperspace gates humanity is using that horrors from beyond the galaxy/this dimension are trying to invade through. In the end the main character sends her friends away on a space ship to escape back to earth while she blows up the hyperspace gates to stop the invasion, apparently dying in the process. (Both qualify as the 'Heroic Sacrifice' trope, however, it's a little bit more specific then that just havign the same trope)

The differences: Misaki in divergence eve is exposed on a starship, Shepard on a planet. Misaki gets recruited after, Shep was recruited before. Misaki gets her DNA altered and a mind screw, Shep gets a mind screw. Shep ends up maybe dead maybe alive, Misaki ends up some sort of Schrodinger's Cat as time and space get distorted by her actions. (Technically similar but not quite the same.)

However, you can also argue that certain games also bare a startling similarity to ME in general, and the ending in specific.

Hmm there are gonna be some flipped cars because of this but I hear from multiple sources that talking to squad members on the Normandy is Zaeed style, just gonna get that out there here and now.
God damn it. I give them the benefit of the doubt after they fixed the Paragon/Renegade system and now this happens. Seriously?

Question? Just found this out: Why the fuck is Snooki (formally known as Jessica Chobot) in Mass Effect 3? Also who is this James Vega guy? Please tell me I can kill them in the first few seconds of seeing them. They look HIDEOUS. James, not as much as Snooki-Wannabe, but good lord.
As to the whole Snooki thing, I would not be surprised if the Bioware designers didn't like her either. XD And she possibly could have seen it and actually thought it looked good...caused it showed her virtual tits.
She just looks... plastic. Same with Miranda and the new Ashley. I don't understand how fans are not up in arms about this. Or did I miss the memo?
Well you know Miranda...I...don't really...like her...but she does intrigue me in that IF the actual intent of her was to make her perfect and the psychology of that then she does make for a very interesting character. I mean how DO you deal with the fact that your father and probably more accurately described "creator" made you with the sole intent of making you perfection. To know that everything about you had been chosen by someone ELSE and not you so are your feelings your own or just what your creator wanted you to feel? The fact that she's a WOMAN makes it all the more intriguing because it becomes ambigous if the developer or developers of that character really did mean for her to be a character to cause a pause for thought and discussion or if they really just wanted some eye candy. Now I know that Miranda was OF COURSE eye candy, but just because you're making eye candy doesn't mean that you're not also making a character of value.

As for Ashley...I killed her. I didn't really like her but that's not why I killed her, I felt that my Shep, in that situation, would go to protect Kaidan as he was arming the bomb and without that the entire mission was a failure. But yeah, Ashley's dead in my game so what I don't really care about her lol.

I haven't played ANY part of it so don't rely on me for this, but I've vaguely heard that that depends on what mode you play in, Story, RPG, or Action. Which one is which I have no clue, but yeah, there's still hope.

Thanks Yopaz! I really appreciate your maturity about it. Lots of people that aren't excited about it are trying to make it painfully hard to feel good about this game and just doing their best to ruin everyone else's fun which I don't think is right. So your post is very refreshing. ^_^

Sounds like the action mode (since then the game will pick your text) although we can only be sure when the game arrives.
I know i will play it in plain old RPG mode. I just want to control everything like in the previous 2 games

Action mode : focus on action the game will pick the dialogue best suited
Story mode : focuses on the story, action will be downplayed (less for you to do when battling(you still can die in battle in this mode))
RPG mode : same as in mass effect 1 and 2

To start off the discussion, are you going to a Mass Effect midnight launch? Or are you waiting for it in the mail? Or maybe you're waiting for used or a price drop? And are you preparing in any way for the game?
I'm going to the midnight release only because I have no college classes until tomorrow evening, so I decided I'd rather play into the early hours of the morning, sleep, and then play some more before going instead of getting my copy tomorrow afternoon and only getting about two hours with the thing.

I really have made no special plans other than this. I already have my personal perfect runtrhough of ME2's story with all the DLC, which originally was my perfect runtrhough of ME1.

Since when has what the fans wanted affected EA's decisions at all?
I get what your saying about EA, they don't really give a shit about the consumer...or if they do they REALLY REALLY REALLY suck at showing it, but Bioware on the other hand I think does try to listen to its fans. They won't be easily influenced, they have to work within the constraints of time and money, and in the end they have to sell what they choose to a publisher (though I imagine Bioware has an easier time of it than most developers), but they do take into consideration what their decisions do to affect the player. I'm not saying they don't make decisions against the fans or ignore us outright when they want/need to, but I feel like they at least TRY to listen.

I'm not really excited...
I won't get ME3.
Well, unless maybe if they put it on Steam.
But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I'm not getting any EA games until they're released on Steam.

Yeah I figured it was the action mode. I think that's a very interesting approach for Bioware to take. No wonder they had to push the game back for five months, it seems almost like they were trying to make three games in one to fit whatever mood the player is in....but I'm going RPG, everytime probably.

Sorry! But at least it's still in the same week! And lots of people point that out to me (not upset, I'm fine with it). I suppose I should have put "till the American release" and I suppose I could still edit it that way but people seem to be having fun being playfully upset over it.

This is the first time I've ever done a Collector's edition. It just never seemed worth it. But come on, robot dog? Who can resist a robot dog?

Ooo are your friends the type where you say "no, I don't want to know" and yet they keep talking even after you've put your fingers in your ears and go "la la la la la"?

And honestly at this point I'm a little glad it'll take a bit to get here. I've been awake for about 24 hours now (various reasons, long story) so I'm very tired and I couldn't possibly stay awake well enough to properly play. XD
No, nothing like that. Also how would you spoil Mass Effect 3?
Mass Effect 2 was all a dream. Shepard wasn't actually killed in the Normandy explosion!
Don't worry that was a lie.
I did get the end of Bioshock and the first Assassin's Creed spoiled for me though.

My friends will bug me to join the multyplayer with them.

I'm also glad for the wait, because I still have to go through and beat Arrival with some of my Shepards.
