So a new Godzilla trailer is online and there is so much new stuff in it.

Most notably, clips of Godzilla fighting the military and the Muto creatures.

So what does the Escapist make of the trailer?

I feel monsters really gotta stop breaking lady liberty, poor gal.

Looks alright, makes me think it's another action flick with no real plot but that's cool, sometimes I enjoy a movie where I can just switch off and see awesome stuff happen. Kinda reminds me of Pacific Rim what with the two giant monsters I assume are gonna beat each other to a pulp.

Oh my, I didn't know they'd be putting in other monsters. Now that makes me quite a bit more excited to see this movie. I'll happily shut my brain off and enjoy CGI monster vs monster violence, with plenty of explosions.

Anyone else worried this will turn into another Transformers? Incoherent "monster" battles with splashes of military porn.

Damn...I think I might be getting way to jaded for my own good.

Well, from the short footage I saw here there doesn't seem to be any of that close-up, jitter bug, Micheal Bay shenanigans.

Godzilla himself seems to be looking better with each new trailer.

They just had to throw in the 'God help us all' line though, didn't they?

Why is this, from the looks of scenery and background cast, based in America?
I don't know why but it always seems to turn me off these fun turn off your brain and enjoy the explosions movies when 95% of them occur in America.

While the Statue of Liberty and the Golden Gate Bridge are clearly locations, I also noticed a lot of scenery that looked like it might be Chinese.

I'm pretty sure the action will be on more of a global scale than at least the 1997 Godzilla movie, especially if these's more than one giant monster running around.

Oh look a 'disaster' movie where the Golden Gate bridge is destroyed along with the Statue of Liberty. How novel... But since it looks like Godzilla is going on some kind of USA road trip there is still a chance that something more original could get fucked up like the "worlds largest thermometer" or "America's most stompable tree".

Maybe we could even get a scene of him unleashing his atomic breath on the World's Largest Ball of Twine.

I'm still waiting for Bryan Cranston to say the inevitable "he is the one who knocks!" line.

But besides that, this trailer has me excited, and I'm not even that big of a Godzilla/Kaiju fan.

Well, at least the Statue of Liberty getting destroyed in this one seems to be the replica one at New York, New York casino in Vegas, based on the background. That's different, right?

Wait? That Muto kaiju thing can fly???

Either way, that trailer got me pumped up to watched it but in turn I am torn to decided on which films to watch (this of X-Men: Day of the future Past) with my mate this coming May?

Only if he then picks up the flaming twine and hurls it into the opposing monster shouting "HADOKEN!"

Rodan! Holy crap, they put Rodan in! I can't...I'm excited for this movie now. As I was watching this trailer, I could feel my mouth opening wider and wider until I had tears in my eyes. This looks like a Godzilla movie! Godzilla does not fight humans. Godzilla fights other monsters, and humans just happen to get it the crossfire. I remember saying, when the first trailer popped up (on this very website even), that I hope there's another monster in the movie, and that maybe it's that monster that's causing all the destruction. So beyond happy to see that there is another monster. I will be seeing this film now for sure, even if it is terrible.

sorry to burst your bubble there buddy but Rodan isnt in this. The flying monster we saw is called a MUTO. Toho never gave Legendary the rights to any other monster other than the big G himself.
