So I just finished ordering a new computer for myself
So I thought I would come here to talk about it.
Heres what I (by which I mean Mum & Dad) ordered.

16GB of Corsair Vngeance RAM
LG Blu-Ray DVD Combo drive
Intel core i5 3550 (with ivybridge)
OCZ Fatal1ty Series 750w Modular PSU
Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 Core GPU
WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD
Aerocool Black Hawk Case

This is an early 18th birthday gift.

So, fellow Escapists (Escapers? Escapees?), what are your computers like?

I also got a 21.5 inch Samsung LED screen and a Logitech G105 keyboard.

OT: My computer is fairly bare-bones right now, but I am intending to upgrade at the end of the year.

I paid for all three of my computers with my own money.

I was saving up for it and had over half of the required dollars. But when Mum & Dad asked me what I wanted for my 18th I replied (sarcastically) "A new computer" and they bought it. I even went so far as to offer to pay for half of it. But they said that because it was my 18th I shouldn't have to pay anything for it.

Mine has survived in its four years: Two coffee spills (one was an entire cup directly on the keyboard), a water spill, a cereal spill, several drops/falls, a heavy table top falling on it (it was a freak accident, I swear! It was also the same incident as the water spill), and my dog stepping on it.

What's broken? My disk drive (I'm pretty sure it was broken for about a year before I figured it out, which tells you how little I used the disk drive anyway) and my "c" key (I use copy/paste for the letter. And capital ones are very annoying to me). Yeah, it's a Macbook Pro, was overpriced, and I can only play a handful of games on it. But it's durable as hell.

I'm running a 2nd hand mobo and i5-750, 2nd hand corsair ram (8gigs) and a pair of 5850s that i got off my friends when they upgraded.

Swapped my 2nd hand case for a brand new one recently and bought a nice new PSU when my old one fried itself. Also an aftermarket cooler in preparation of ze overclockings.

Now im saving for an ssd and one (or three) of those fancy new dell IPS screens.

My laptop has leather trim on the outside of the case. It may choke and die trying to play new games on a decent resolution, but damn it, LEATHER.

I have shell access to an entire Red Hat server that no-one else uses at our university it's a few years old but incredibly powerful. My laptop is medium-range, and everything else is crap-tier.
