lets debate it now, what is the next pointless study that will make the news here?

Something to do with gay people or videogame playing kids killing people, it's inevitable

How can we make these everyday children's toys incredibly naughty
"Obviously the shorts on Dora are a deep-seated need by toy designers for lolita action."

How about what [http://gizmodo.com/5101522/barack-obama-uses-a-zune] he [http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/12/04/barack-obama-zune-user/] listens [http://www.nypost.com/seven/12052008/news/politics/obama_zune_acy_142804.htm] to [http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2008/dec/05/barack-obama-microsoft-zune]. Man, is it just the media or do Americans genuinly care about these things? (and that is how I put it after I thought I don't want to incur a mod's wrath).
No no, it's just the media. At least, I sure as hell hope it is. I don't know anyone that cares that he uses a Zune.

According to Demetri Martin, every toy can be a sex toy. Location, location, location.

The link between BLANK and life expectancy.

The BLANK usually being something that is either obviously dangerous or something very mundane that increases your life by a pathetically small amount...

With any luck I'll be one of these people getting paid unscrupulous amounts of money to tackle serious issues like how many fruit pastels it takes to choke a kestrel. Yay!

What the average person really would do for a Klondike bar.
Yah know I have always wondered what people would really do for a Klondike bar. I bet you would get some strange results.

I'd just read the Metro, they have a new one weekly. And yeah, some of the stories that come out do seem nonsensical, but even with the "Chips" one, there's usually some good that can come of it.

Let's face it, if we could cure cancer as easily as dissecting a chip smell, it'd have been done years ago.

Let's just check my news sources for Wednesday

* Spain uses Bahamas pic to advertise beach
* Man cuts hand off for second time
* Mayor asks for police protection for toilet visits
* 'George Bush is dead' - TV station gets too excited
* Chinese censors end up giving David a Mao suit
* Man accidentally shoots self while paying for lunch

The world is actually crazy. I just report what happens.

I think we're due for a new religion thread. It's been about...3 hours, I'm sure someone will come up with a study arguing one way or another.

So what is next? It seems like this has been pointless uses for science week so what will be the next item to make many of us go "this is what these people are getting paid to research?" or "how bored must these people be to study this!"
Maybe scientists have just discovered a way to make flatulence smell like cinnamon rolls, or groundbreaking discovery: sweating makes you smell bad. Or maybe it will be an analysis of why pie tastes good.
So come on and through your own ideas out for the next completely pointless study.

Here is a shocker, apparently if you are obese you will be more prone to being bullied. Thank you science for all your hard work!
