I've tried it and I think it's got the best multiplayer of any Smash game. But I don't really enjoy it. Simply because I don't like any of the new characters. I'm still good with Captain Falcon and Samus and a few others but I've already played SO MUCH of them in previous games, I'm just bored because it feels like the same to me. But if you're new to Smash or love the new characters, the game is great.

I also disagree with the opinions on stage selections. Which maps did you think were terrible? And we're obviously excluding the large maps designed for 8-players like Palutena's Temple and The Great Cave Offensive. I do think some of the stages have a too large blast zone but I still enjoyed plenty of the stages.
Of the new stages, Great Cave Offensive is terrible in pretty much every way, Dr. Wily's Castle has that stupid giant yellow robot that takes up half the stage, Pac-land is probably the worst stage ever created, Orbital Gate Assault is basically poke-floats but with even more shit going on in the background making it easy to lose track of your character, gaur-plain makes it difficult to distinguish the foreground from the background, pyrosphere has Ridley colluding with players, mii-verse is just ugly (though mechanically totally fine). I haven't gotten to play Pilot Wings, Gamer, or Wrecking Crew yet so I can't comment on them outside of saying that they look fairly bullshit.

So out of the 27 new maps I wouldn't touch about 1/3 of them with a 10 foot pole.

Love it. Loving the hell out of Shulk, giving me a good backup character when I don't feel like playing the dorfmeister, (at least as "mains" since I tend to play a bit of everyone anyway), my brother and I like floating maps and there are a fair few of those, like the music for a lot of the stages, and like most, but not all, of the other new characters. On the downside I feel like the single player is a tiny bit lacking compared to brawl with no SSE, and event mode is easier without bosses.

tldr; for what I do most, ie, play multiplayer with my bro/some friends, it's brawl (maybe mixed with melee? People say it's in between but I played melee once and haven't since because we sold our gamecube so I can't even remember it) but more, so I like.

Bought it after finding it at a discount. I never played Brawl much only for about an hour total round a friends of a friends house and while I did play Melee I havent touched that in many many years.

First off I was disappointed Midna was not a playable character but whatever I can deal with that its a just a selfish reason but one that still annoys me in the same way that Psylocke was not a playable character in MVC3 (just to a less extent as Pslockes absence really killed the hype around that game for me).

Ive played for about 4 hours so far so havent reached a final consensus yet but so far I am mildly underwhelmed it has a few modes but none of them satisfy me and while I dont have that much trouble with most of the stages none have wowed me mostly they just annoy me tbh.

Graphically it looks nice but I would expect that from the simple Nintendo clean look theres not exactly a load of textures here apart from in some stages like Woolies world (think thats the name).

My biggest gripe is with the controls they just feel really squishy and unresponsive part of the problem may be that I am using the gamepad and so I have ordered a GC adaptor since I have 3 GC pads from ages ago still which would be good for MP if I ever get anyone who wants to play (unlikely).

That said I dont feel its bad its just that so far it has not impressed maybe after I scratch deeper it will grow on me but really I dont know if its something I will keep coming back to maybe online will be a blast but im not trying that until I get my LAN adaptor as I want to minimise lag on my end.

I probably won't even use the Amiibo's I'll just display them under my tv to look at:p

Little Mac needs buffs like a MF
Meta Knight feels... off. His moves aren't as easy to execute as before.
Sonic down a attack is different and I don't like it as much. a bit more slippery too
When I up the difficulty in those challenge things feel like my attacks are being delayed, is that just me?
Ike still Rules
Links up A attack isn't as fancy.
The overall presentation is good, I don't like how you can't set default certain modes, difficulty or name but nothing a software update won't.
I haven't used Shulk yet but I plan to, i'm a little apprehensive.
The Hand twins suck! The overall fight is great but they Suck!
Music is great, Items - even on High isn't as frequent. but the new Items I like.

I like it a lot. :)

I'm liking it a lot, except for Smash Tour. Smash Tour is awful.
Kinda peeves me that they cut people like Lucas and Snake to put in Duck Hunt but whatever.

One thing that is frustrating are those Master Orders where although it's a 'free for all' both/all the enemies still only really go for you. Case in point i was doing an expert Master Order which was a 1 min smash, it ended 1 all after one minute, went to sudden death upon which Meta knight just ran up and grabbed me and held me there whilst Jigglypuff sauntered over and KO'd us both.
That shit pisses me off because in reality the Meta Knight would be wanting to win, not sacrificing himself to stop me wining.
Also they tend to have these kinds of challenges on those stages that are constantly moving and changing (ones like delfino plaza ect)

Besides that though like i say, really enjoying the game and trying to unlock the trophies.

I don't have the Wii U version, only melee and brawl. But I do have a question for all of you.

How is the single player adventure mode?

Melee was fun, changed up the enemies with each map, great soundtrack, the level design was also good.

Brawl's adventure mode, the cutscenes were amazing, and the fact that you selected your fighters during the story and chose how to act out was pretty cool.
The fact that you had to fight the same enemies over and over kinda got old. At time I wasn't ENJOYING the levels, I was mostly just sprinting to the end so I could see the next cutscene.

So, what about the Wii U version? Does it have an adventure mode? Do they improve it? Does it feel like a worthy sequel?

Short answer, shit.
There is no adventure mode, you just pick which fight you want to do and fight it. There is no story/plot. There are no levels or stages like melee had. It's just straight up battles. No cutscenes.

Honestly i'm somewhat disappointed at the lack of game modes and at how much i hate most of the game modes.
Smash Tour is just so fucking irritating. The special orders and event battles and such are all just tedious. Classic mode would be so much better if it gave you something more. The over reliance on coins is a major piss off. 8 person smash is a mess. FUCKING STAGE DEATH is far to common. Needing to play on certain difficulties to fight the different forms of master hand is probably what pisses me off the most because some times i just want to not fight both hands, or i want to fight the various other forms without maxing out the difficulty. The ridiculous speeds your character can reach in smash tour is just fucking stupid. Hell thats probably tied into my main complaint about the 3ds version, being that you don't know what type of battle you'll be in after the Smash Run. Oh and that just reminded me of another thing i hate, DAMN AUTO KO ITEMS. I am so sick of being killed by space invaders or the skyward sword beetle or the skyward sword tornado stick, and the fucking battles where all items are either explosives or space invaders are the worst in smash tour because they almost always lead to the unfair loss of characters.

Its a good game but ...
I wish they had programmed a new subspace emissary type mode
I still miss coin battles but that's nitpicking as brawl also lacked them
FUCKING PAC MAN AND DARK PIT  i can tolarate megaman and sonic but pacman is a stupid addition, and for fucks sake sakrai we can all see dark pit is just some stupid ego stroking (for that matter who is shulk?)
the new version of classic bothers me...

now some good stuff
love 8 player mode its freaking chaos but its fun chaos XD
amiibos are awesome I already own 3 (pikachu, kirby, and link looking for villager but everywhere I go he is sold out :()

You guys complaining about Pac-Man are ridiculous. He's my second favorite fighter.

Coin battles are back, I've played a few and they're actually really fun.
