Oooh, lemme go look.

Numbered scores for games have, like all thing, their ups and downs. Their ups being that they, unlike the review itself, cannot be taken out of context as so many things are these days. Their downs, however, being that they reduce all the time and effort of the designers into a score that reflects only one person, or a small group of peoples' view on it.
It also seems that it's helping to dumb down our culture along with abbreviations such as the dreaded lol and horrific stereotypes shunted into the media.

Overall though, it's a matter of opinion and that's mine.

Back on the "What's wrong with numbered scores in Reviews" thread.

Good thread by the way, made me see how far I've come.

To be honest, I don't think I'd be able *not to* tell people. Think about it, wouldn't you feel... 'fake' if you saw all those religous people going about and you had factual proof that they were all following an illusion? I couldn't bare being the odd man out by such a large amount.

this one's mine, from October Last year. it's the earliest on my post list, but i'm pretty sure i posted before then

i found this one on TES Nexus (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8440)
it's called "Apophis Armory of the Silver Dragon"

it adds stacks of new weapons and armour, including this like pole-arms, and flaming sword, and staffs.
you also get capes of varying sizes, and so on.


this is easily one of the best mods i have

I've got a cat and she seems to be in love with the 360, she sits next to it and purrs along.
If I even make a move towards it she'll run ahead of me, sit next to it and paw the tray expectantly.

I felt a crushing embarrassment when reading my first post.

This is what the conspiracy theorists say:

Gerstmann wasn't fired just after the review was posted because of the huge holiday rush. Gerstmann was editor-in-chief; he would be needed during that most crucial time of year.

He was probably fired because he wrote the review that made Eidos pull their ads, which meant that Gamespot lost a lot of money (the amount of K&L ads on GS.com was absurd), which meant that CNET lost a bunch of money, which meant Gerstmann lost CNET a bunch of money. Therefore, what's the best action to take? Fire the fat donut-hog, of course!

Gamespot was singled out because Eidos had a helluva lot of ads on their site. That's right. A helluva lot of ads. You couldn't move your mouse an inch in any direction without hitting a K&L ad. And that's NOT lying. Just exaggerating.

I don't know what to think. I just know that this whole thing is a shambolic mess.

EDIT: beat me to it, JamesW. Sigh. I worked hard on this. Real hard. I mean, Rocky IV hard. I guess the better man won.

Although I love the fact that I used the word "shambolic" in my first post.

Ah, it's good to see another 40K Board up after so long. I've always sided with Eldar, myself. But yeah, Soulstorm is a tad broken, but then again so were IG in Winter Assault (Baneblade was unstoppable back then), and they got fixed. Just give them time.

Anyway, my three favorite races (Eldar{Or Space Elves/Vulcans}, Necrons, and Tau) are here, so I can deal with no nids for now, especially since they're my least favorite (Mainly because they are the only army that I've consistently lost against.)

As for why I like the whiny, self-centered elves, I give you one name: Iyanden.

Wraithguard own. Which is also the reason why I hate Eldar in DoW: No guard, and Lords aren't that great.

Oh, and to end my rant...

Wow, I'm amazed at how silly I was just last year. Maturity sneaks up on you and screams 'Boo', it seems.
