The Dillinger Escape Plan

Those guys are brilliant, 43% Burnt, Baby's First Coffin. Plus, any band that has Mike Patton sing for them on an EP after the original lead singer leaves just shows how awesome they are.

Also, I have not heard, nor did I know the term Nu Metal existed for like 10 years now.

It was not long ago, but I still agree with my past. The Dillinger Escape Plan is awesome.

I am still surprised people were throwing around the term Nu Metal in the thread, seriously, it has been years

I actually registered to answer this one. Dark Sector. I've been reading about it and hearing various stories of its awesomeness for about two years now, and I bought it the day it came out. I played through about half the game before I got fed up with it and took it back. My opinion of it: If Gears of War had a retarded child and beat it over the head with a sack of shit every day for its childhood, and then said child grew up to be an damn near perfect clone of its father only retarded and covered in shit, you'd have Dark Sector. The only thing I liked about it was the glaive, and one weapon is not enough to redeem it.

I like Fullmetal Alchemist(but who doesn't), Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun.

Every other anime I've ever seen is either to rediculous to take seriously or tries way to hard to be funny. Naruto is a good example for the first type and the demon scourge that is Bobobo is a good example of the second. I suppose i do hate generic anime and the community(if i see another kid with a fake tail I am going to hurt somebody). I suppose other people's hatred would typically stem from the community and to some degree the simplistic artstyle.

It was a thread about why some people hate anime.

Essentially, you're just manipulating a sequence of numbers to prove that this number when you add this and multiply it by this is equal to this number!!!

About the whole 1/3 fraction thing, you can say that 0.333 is 1/3 of 0.999. You can also say that 1/3 times 3 is 3/3, which is equal to 1. However, you cannot say that 0.333 times 3 is 1 simply on the basis that 1/3 times 3 equals 1. That's just not thinking.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't read that the 1/3 thing was a joke lol

I think you need to look at stories from different perspectives than a simple 1-10 list, at least this explains my personal favorite stories better.

Favorite 'Long' Story: Suikoden V
- I'm a sucker for the heavy politics, sweeping war drama and emotional character interaction that is the staple of the Suikoden series and nothing proves it better than a game that takes 8 hours to introduce you to the characters then pulls you along at break neck pace for the next 60 hours of gameplay.

Favorite 'Short' Story: Drakes Fortune
- Sure it's story is basically an amalgamation of the best of Indiana Jones but for me this game presents the perfect plot that concludes at 8 hours of game play. Super Charming characters certainly helped in this.

Favorite 'Scary' Story: Silent Hill 2
- At the great revelation I was speechless and I couldn't believe the hollow feeling the ending left me with. To this day I still haven't seen anything that has scared me so much and gotten me so involved with the characters.

Favorite 'Immersive' Story: Mass Effect
- This game really made me feel like I was a part of the story and was directing it myself rather than simply being a victim of circumstance. That and the ending was truly kick ass, completely salvaging the game for me.

Favorite 'Character' Story: Persona 3
- I really fell in love with this games cast, all of the characters were compelling and I was interested in what happened to them.

Favorite 'Non-Linear' Story: Fallout 2
- I really enjoyed being able to take my own personal vengeance on the slaver Metzger, being forced to just let this evil bastard live and then walking in and shooting him in the head and taking down all his thugs without provocation was priceless. I definately enjoyed how your choices had consequences and how much freedom you had to make your own decisions.

Favorite "Moments" Story: Metal Gear Solid 3
- Certain games for me are defined by offering brilliant jaw dropping moments of revelation or eye popping amazement that they are made all the better for them. Metal Gear Solid 3 definately fit this bill with the amazing final battle against the boss in a field of white flowers to the long drawn out sniper battle with The End to the fast paced chase with the Shagohod.

Favorite "Passive" Story: Xenosaga 3
I would characterize a passive story as one where the cutscenes are long and the gameplay a little more sporadic. I enjoyed the no-bullshit pull you from cutscene to cutscene pacing of Xenosaga 3, having to wrap up 3 games worth of plot in one game certainly has its advantages, 3 end boss worthy battles is nothing to snear at.

Not much has changed, I discuss RPG's and narrative... which is pretty much all I ever discuss.

I completly support this video and , though I am not usally bothered by what some prepubescent american is sceeching about over XBL as I have that lovley mute button I still think it would be much better if it didn't happen at all sadly with the obscurity of the internet you can't bring homophobes or racists to justice (unlike in real life) but its good that people are trying to stop it

Nice review, gonna buy the game tomorrow when it releases in Europe What i don't get however is why Yahtzee keeps ranting about "that guys" who play the game on their own and beat everyone else only to state that this doesn't apply to SSBB since it's a random button masher :-/
