World of Minecraft client is a good one, can produce things with commands and markers. Only on servers that allow client hacks, though.

As long as its running a decent map. Flatgrass is fine... but doesn't let you build into the landscape.

I think you mean garry's mod This isn't garrys mod it's minecraft. there are no maps, the game is everyone making their maps in co-operative environment.

Or you can stop being an ass and look at the server list.

In Minecraft, a "flatgrass" map is a map that has no hills, inland lakes, sand etc. Just one huge expanse of green.

Personally I find these servers a little blah, but will happily build on them.

Thanks! I'm guessing the "the escapist" server would allow client hacks, I mean why not? What are the cons of it?

If used properly, they can be incredibly handy for building - world of minecraft, for example, will let you fill a space you define with blocks, water, air etc which makes it very handy for buiding the big stuff (I once made a huge cavern on a flatgrass server with this client).

Problem is, it can be used for easy griefing. For example, in Minecraft, expose a single block of water to air, and the water will pour to fill anything below it until it reaches its level.

This means I can create a block of water or lava above everything else, then open the flood gates, flooding the whole server.

Also allows people to wipe out other people's creations in three clicks.

Built myself on top of a giant tower and the view.........is actaully amazing.

This. After creating random crap and several kinds of traps of doom, simply building terrain is a little bland.

Well we've done quite a bit on the server, got some basic structures set up, homes, caverns, a highway etc... we're looking at building a co-operative project now so if you want to join in join the server!

I played for about 1/2 hour in solo. It was one of the strangest experiences i ever had, the isolation is crushing

Inded in solo it's a little daunting and lonely. The real fun in it comes out in the multiplayer in my opinion, why not give the server a go?
