My vote is also for not killing Zez Kai-Ell.

I don't think you got the line in this dialogue tree, but I remember he does express disgust at what the Jedi council did to Revan in one dialogue option. (Maybe it's only if you specified a light side Revan, I don't remember.) I always appreciated that, since the morality of mindraping someone into being nice was so heavily glossed over in the first game.

They mention it if you picked a Lightside Revan, yes. I believe Zez-Kai-Ell says something like "Revan's Redemption was not of their own volition".

Oh, don't worry about it. Part of the fun is learning more about the game. I confess it doesn't feel as good when you have it pointed out to you; makes you feel like an idiot. I know that feeling.
But hey. You know how to hit all the dialogue like a champ, and you can kill things effectively. I won't hold your mistakes against you if you won't.

+1 for letting him live - I can't in good conscience vote for killing a man with a moustache that awesome.

I love how flawed Ell is as a character too. With very few exceptions Jedi in the films are so fracking one-dimensional in their goody-goody heroism. Ell on the other hand questions the Jedi teachings, admits his flaws and, when it comes down to it, is actually kind of a coward. And that's so cool

A vote for keeping the Zez alive. You cannot kill that wonderful walrus face and how he's the only one who's really sorry the whole time.

As for endings

Zez is really the only one who appears to (without knowing) admit that kreia's point of view is correct, at least a little bit. He admits that the council was wrong, and that possibly the whole thing is wrong in a way. Not completely on her side, but gives her position a little bit of a basis. Also, two questions about endings. Can you lightside the game and kill all the Jedi Masters, I would think there was enough opportunity to get lightside points to do it, but I could be wrong. Also what happens if you partially kill the council, leaving 2 alive or just even 1...and does it change depending on the Master still alive. My mind is exploding at the possibilities that I missed there, like just having Vrook give a stern lecture about how terrible you are at the end.

WOOOO GO-TO, welcome. Now, let's go get the best robot, to finish the trifecta of amazing robots. Actually,kotor 2 did a really great jobs on the droids this game.

Hey, everyone. I wanna apologise for the lack of updates recently. Things have been hectic recently, as I'm moving to a new location, and on top of that, my computer has decided that actually working is for squares, yo, and isn't letting me log on. At this point, it's possible that I may end up the Lp save, though even if that happens, it won't stop this Lp forever. Anyway, I just wanted to update you on the situation, and to let you know that we'll be back as soon as it's physically possible. Should be a fun update too: a psychotic robot wishes to educate us on e meaning of love.

Yes, it has been a while, hasn't it? Far, far too long, I think. I deeply apologize for the long wait, a significant spiral of "shit happening", including my hard drive spontaneously combusting caused it. However, barring the sky literally falling on my head (fingers crossed) the LP train is not on an express train to victory! And beginning on the most auspicious of days (May the Fourth be with you all, by the way), Bob Bindo and the crew of the Ebon Hawk will be updating on a weekly basis, on the weekends usually, until the end of the game. We've still got quite a ride ahead, so if you've forgotten a lot of the details of this adventure (I don't blame you, it has been a while), feel free to check out some of the older updates before sinking your teeth into this new one. Without further ado, let us return to Knights of the Old Republic 2!

Last time, we destroyed Goto's Space Yacht, and met Master Zez-Kai Ell, the man we've been looking for on Nar Shaddaa. We also picked up two new companions: G0-T0, the rather egotistically named torture droid, bequeathed to us by the crime lord Goto to aid us in carrying out his orders to "save the Republic", and Mira, a bounty hunter who introduced herself to us by drugging us and stealing our clothes. Charming. We left off with Zez-Kai Ell contemplating his place in the Jedi Order.

I love this guy. He's reasonable, logical, has a rockin' beard, and uses a Dual-Bladed Lightsaber, which is Objectively The Best Kind. Plus, it's purple, because he doesn't need his superheated energy weapon to be red to be badass.

Due to our fists n' fury oriented approach to combat this playthrough, we haven't been making the best use of the saber forms, but this one is definitely one of the more useful ones, particularly for Consular characters.

However, it will soon be time for us to depart Nar Shaddaa for pastures new, but we've got a couple loose ends to tie up
before then.

Too right. Unlike Bao-Dur's arm, and some other companion abilities, G0-T0's droid scrambles is absolutely lethal against droids. Not literally of course, but that ability to easily turn the enemy onto your side is very, very handy.

Interestingly, unless you outright refuse any reward for this, you get dark side points. Apparently, Obsidian are NOT capitalists. They won't be submitting to the false ideals of the bourgeosie, I guess. However, we get some influence with G0-T0 for accepting his money, and that's a lot harder to come by than Light Side Points, so I guess we'll be dicks and accept a monetary reward for SAVING THE GALAXY. I dunno about you, but that seems like it karmically balances itself out.

Romance options are a very strange thing in RPGs. For something that's often a key aspect of Role Playing and storytelling in general, they more often than not cheesy and poorly handled. It's not like games are incapable of showing a romance, I can think of numerous examples where there's a romance subplot that works very well. But in CRPGs, it so often devolves into fill up bar = sex. Bioware is notriously bad for this. I distinctly remember the amazement, horror, and amusement I felt when I unlocked the secret "threesome" option in Jade Empire purely by accident, and I think that typifies a lot of how juvenile RPGs treat romance. The Witcher series seems to jump on either edge of the spectrum. One one hand, you have Geralt's relationship with Triss Merigold, which is realistic, beliveable, and adds to both characters. And on the other...we have the first game's sex trading cards. Collect them all, kids!

Obsidian tend to do things a lot better, in the sense that they don't really "do" romances in the way we've come to think of them in cRPGs. Instead, they're either nonexistent, or a natural part of the narrative whether you fill the bar up or not. I'll be discussing that a little more as things go on. The only two games that had them were Alpha Protocol, where they fit with that game's spy fiction theme, and Neverwinter Nights 2's original campaign, which I firmly believe was a pisstake of bad D&D adventures, which is why I can forgive how blisteringly awful they were. But then you have stuff like Mask of the Betrayer, which perfectly marries it's romance subplot and it's main plot. And here, in Mira, we see how firmly KotOR 2 defies the concept of a traditional romance: Mira is just not into you, and never will be. I cannot express how much of a breath of fresh air it is to have a clearly sexualy-active party member that won't inevitably fall in love with the protagonist, no matter how much they drone at them.

And before you bring up Samara in Mass Effect 2, a) This came out over 5 years before, and b) Pointedly, the only recruitable Asari that doesn't want to screw you in that series is the one that suffers from a disease where every child she has is some kind of genetic monstrosity that murders everyone they sleep with.

So, yeah. Not quite the same.

It's time to experience one of KotOR 2's best new additions: prestige classes! Yes, in addition to your base Jedi class, now we get three additional ones to further specialise and customize. In an interesting touch, there are six different ones overall: three dark side ones, and three light side ones. They mostly correspond with each other, and since we're following the light side, we get the light side options.

So, yeah. The three prestige classes are fairly self-explanatory. Jedi Weapon Masters are the ultimate martial killing machines, felling enemies left and right. They get access the exclusive Superior level feats for Lightsaber focus and Two-Weapon fighting, making them non-stop monsters with dual bladed or dual lightsabers. They also gain increased melee damage in general, and are generally just awesome badasses. This would be the Darth Maul or Mace Windu archetype.

Jedi Watchmen are more of a mixed beast. They have balanced health and force power, very good saving throws, and earn skills very, very quickly and effectively. However, the exclusive feat of the Jedi Watchman, the sneak attack...isn't great. Still though, this is still a very versatile choice, and while not as strong as the weapon master, they can still undoubtedly hold their own in a fight. This would be more the Kyle Katarn or Luke Skywalker archetype.

Finally, we have the Jedi Master. As you can probably guess, these guys are force powerhouses, with a huge reserve of quickly regenerating force points to unleash upon their enemies. Though not as hardy in single combat, they make up for it by ensuring their enemies never get close enough to pose a threat. In addition, party members with high influence are more likely to embrace the Light Side, whereas party members not fond of the Exile are more likely to fall into the dark. This is the Yoda or Obi-Wan archetype.

Bob: "Whatever you say, HK. If you don't mind, I'd like some time alone."

HK-47 is...difficult for a Light-Side player. Unlike G0-T0, who is actually fairly easy to gain influence with if you now what you're doing: he responds well to pragmatism, and does not tolerate both senseless acts of good or evil. HK...just wants to watch the world burn. Preferably with him holding the flamethrower. As such, he responds well to acting like a complete psychopath and responds poorly to...anything else. So he's going to be a challenge for us. Rest assured, however: we will get all his dialogue. Even if it kills me.

But more likely, it'll kill other people.

For now, let's head to Telos: Citadel Station to tie up a few loose ends.

Dantooine - Once home to a Jedi Enclave, Dantooine was devestated by Malak in the Jedi Civil War, and is barely a shadow of it's former self. According to Atris' databanks, Master Vrook is here.

Onderon - A planet that featured prominently in the Tales of the Jedi comics that introduced the Old Republic era, Onderon is a world steeped in the history of the Sith. According to Atris' Databanks, Master Kavar is here.

Korriban - Ancestral homeworld of the Sith, this was once the stronghold of the Sith armada, but was devestated in the Sith Civil War following Revan's claiming of the Star Forge. According to Atris' databanks, Master Vash is here.

So glad to see this back! [sub]Though studying for finals just got a little bit harder.[/sub]

Since I can't remember anything about this game, I won't vote yet until I see what other people have to say. Though for prestige class, I think it would be better to keep going down whatever path was originally chosen (if we're force user: Jedi Master, etc.,).

What!? Since when the hell can you do this??

Oh yeah, I played the Xbox version.

Anyways, I say you go Jedi Master, since you're not using weapons so the Weapon Master class seems pointless. Also the Watchmen class doesn't seem to suit you either since you don't use skills that much I believe. Also the stealth perks and Constitution bonus are pretty useless most of the time. With more force powers and points, you could augment your hand-to-hand combat.

Also, I say Dantooine, since it seems that saving Korriban for last and then returning to Onderon to settle the political conflict would be the best conclusion to the LP before the endgame sequences.

Yes! You're back and this update was awesome. Mira never really clicked with me but I do adore her lines here and all the inter-party member interactions in general.

I also vote for Jedi Master and Dantooine. I figure Korriban tends to work best as last because of what goes on there, and whilst I do enjoy screwing with the order of Onderon a bit, for a LP it's probably best to play nice and have it work in an ordered fashion.
