I vote for a Cyndaquil by the name of Zippo, to bring light to the world!

Though I have a question, could we donate Pokemon for you to use in these Poke-let's plays?
That wouldn't be a problem, but how would you donate them?
Just by trading, I was thinking about giving you the other two Johto starters since I always have lots of fun using all three in a generation. I don't want to intrude on your let's play, just take it as a suggestion. :)
Intrude? Oh heavens, no! These playthrough are going to involve the people following it as much as myself!

So you mean trade through the GTS?
That, or we can trade the traditional way over wifi. Just let me know if you are interested in doing so. I won't be on for several hours so I won't be responding.

Yeah, I'm interested, but we should probably talk about this through PMs.

Typhlosion is a combination of Typhoon and Explosion.

I would vote for Totodile, however.

[HEADING=1]Part 1:[/HEADING][HEADING=2]Our Johto Journey Has Begun![/HEADING]
[img height]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/9/9b/155Cyndaquil.png/250px-155Cyndaquil.png[/img]

Who's that starter?!

It's Cyndaquil!

Cindy, to be exact. She'll likely grow out of that name once she's a Typhlosion, kinda like how there aren't any adults called "Timmy"; they're all now just "Tim". I'm happy with the name, however.
_ _ _ _

We begin by heading west, to meet a man by the name of "Mr Pokemon". He's apparently made some sort of discovery about special egg he's found. Nope - it's not Manaphy. Along our way through route 29 and to the next location we encounter some Hoothoots, we have no pokeballs yet so Cindy has to beat them up, I'm afraid.

We reach Cherrygrove City and some old guy gives you an offer you can't refuse. (Because the game doesn't let you.) He begins a tour of the village... while running really, really fast. He notices why you aren't doing the same then looks at your bare feet and *tries* to slow down for you.

As a reward for keeping up with him, he gives running shoes. He said they were new... but didn't specify if they're the ones he was wearing.
_ _ _ _

We go to Mr Pokemon's house to the north, still beating up Hoothoots along the way. As we arrive, he gives you the mysterious, normal-looking egg. Again, I haven't played through SoulSilver before so I don't know what it will hatch into.

Prof. Oak; the strange man from that stranger dream is also the house. He asks you to complete the Pokedex, just like the protagonist from first gen. Some say Red went insane and removed himself from society after realising it was impossible to "catch 'em all".
_ _ _ _

Oak tells us he's some sort of DJ on a radio station. Then I get his phone number. Yeah, I don't know.
_ _ _ _

We escape the clutches of the old men and exit the house, then immediately called by Elm. Something important happened, he didn't specify, he could have reached the next level on Candy Crush for all I know.
_ _ _ _

We try to backtrack to our hometown but we're stopped by that red-haired, pie-stealing kid we saw creepily looking into Elm's lab earlier. He calls you a wimp and challenges you to a battle. Not sure why, I haven't said anything that would think I'd want to battle him.

Compared to other Pokemon games, the initial battle with your rival happens a lot later in this game, usually it happens almost immediately after you get your starter.
_ _ _ _

A fierce battle between Cindy and our rival's Crocoduck begins. Cindy tackles. Crocoduck scratches. Cindy tackles. Crocoduck scratches. Cindy Ta- yeah, you get the idea.
_ _ _ _

After our opponent loses, he claims he's going to be the very best like no one ever was, then exits left. He looks around and comes back.
_ _ _ _

While he was distracted by the battle I managed to swipe his trainer card, finding out who he was. Turns out his middle name is "Precious".
_ _ _ _

Continuing to beat up Hoothoots along the way, we reach Elm's lab. I police officer is there and makes accusations that I stole a pie or something. Ethan comes running in and saves me from going to jail by pointing out that jails don't exist in the Pokemon World.

"That red-haired, pie-stealing kid must have been the one who stole your pie, Professor Elm!", Ethan said. The policeman then asks me for his name to help out with the investigation.
_ _ _ _

I hope he finds him.
_ _ _ _

After all that crime nonsense I finally gave Elm the mysterious egg. He'll keep the egg until we unlock the secret of what's inside.

Completely out of the blue, he suggests that we should take the challenge of beating all the gyms, beating all the Elite 4 and become champion. Before we do, though, we should tell our mom that we're going to be on a journey all around Johto (and beyond).
_ _ _ _

Mom takes it pretty easily and suggests a way to help you get out of the house as soon as possible - she'll function as a bank for our hard-earned monies.
_ _ _ _

We leave our hometown for good now but we're stopped by Ethan, who shows you how to catch a pokemon with a pokeball.

He gives you strategies on how to catch them easier by telling you to hold down the B button as the pokeball shakes to add a 25% chance of catching it, shouting "gotcha" into the DS microphone repeatedly to increase the pokemon's level by 3 and finally pressing up, down, up, left, down, left, right, select, up, right, start, up to transform the caught pokemon into a shiny.
[HEADING=3]Pokemon in Route 29 to be nicknamed:[/HEADING]Pidgey
Sentret
Rattata
Hoothoot
[HEADING=3]Reservations and nicknaming have started![/HEADING]More details about these on the "Newcomers click here!" section at the start of this thread.
