Hello and welcome to my first episode of Reet Plays Skyrim. This is the first thing like this I've ever done so what I want more than anything else is feedback. I would really appreciate it if you could just say what you thought of it and what I could improve about it. So thanks in advance and I hope you enjoy it.

I'm going to say this right here and now, this is a bad idea, SKYRIM IS NOT THE KIND OF GAME THAT LENDS ITSELF TO A VLP, especially when you ware flying solo with the commentary. If you are going to keep doing this, then learn to edit, please, cut things out we wont hate you for it. For example we don't need to see character creation, there is a lot of Skyrim that we do not need to see. Secondly get some wingmen, I don't think I could take the whole game with just your banter, guests liven things up a lot. Finally there is the simple rule that you don't need to LP a game right when it comes out, there is an unspoken 3 month rule new games, we are all playing it on our own and don't need you to play it for us.
Honestly I would suggest to get your feet wet with something that is easier to LP first (not sure if this is your first LP, or new channel for LPs) because LPing Skyrim will make you hate your life, trust me RPGs are the worst (they are long and you run out of things to say). Just a few questions, are you doing post commentary? If not, do post commentary. Also what are you using to record you video, and ware you getting your game audio and commentary from the same stream or from two different streams?Reet72 said:

Yeah, I have seen a few LPs of rpgs and I know what you mean. Really, this was more of a test to see if I could actually do this and all the important stuff worked.
I'm assuming post commentary is stuff after the video? I'm not sure.
And I'm using fraps for both video and audio, it meant I didn't need to screw around with syncing them.

Post commentary is when you record your video and then commentate over it. This differs from what most newcomers do which is live commentary, commentating while you are playing the game. The advantage of post commentary is that it makes it so you can take all of the stuff you need to take out, out, and you wont loose any of your commentary. It also lets you get a cleaner recording for your commentary. Another nice thing with post commentary is that you don't get any bleed over from the game, and you can get multiple takes. I would also think about getting some better software than fraps and some real codecs to compress your videos. As far as post commentary is concerned, I'll think about it. I kind of like the idea of showing the game with all the stuff in it rather than editing it for entertainment value and I also like a more off the cuff commentary style. Still your probably right.
