Who are you?
Safe in the Dark; formerly Psychotic Foresight, AKA That one guy, who usually lurks instead of posts. But you can call me Django. I spend a lot of time in the RP forums, or playing my wacky import stuffs.

First time LP?
Yes actually, I've been meaning to LP before but apathy and lack of motivation held me back, but now I have free time, and nothing else to do. This'll be a screenshot LP, but I'll try to throw out youtube videos of important cinematics or Music cues if the situation calls for it. I'll try to update as often as I can.

I'll be playing this mostly blind, by the by, I've played the "Sequel" to Threads of fate, but never got my hands on the original until recently. It'll be a mix of game covering, and improv humor when I can, I promise nothing in the quality of my jokes though.

Left: Rue, Male character, big jrpg ax like weapon called the Arc Drive, can transform into monsters.

Right: Mint, attacks with a pair of chakrams, known as the Dual Haloes, and is a proficient magic user.

Both have almost completely different story paths, I might play through both if you all desire it.

As yo friend, i would recommend going with super Kawaii desu chan pink hair bubble gum pop magic ninja girl on the right whose name is that of a type of hermetic plant that often flavors ice creams and is used for bodily lotions and the such.

Seriously, though, Rue is a cool guy, and Mint isn't just a generic little anime girl, she's of the "obnoxious" variety, if I remember correctly. Or perhaps I was just going on a bit of a cynicism-towards-Japanese-pop-culture phase at the time that I first was introduced to this game, and it has colored my perception.

I vote Rue.

Hmm as somebody that knows all of jack and shit about this game. I decided to go with the time tested system of Ennee menie Mineie Mo, and have reached the conclusion that you should, go with Mint.

I'm not going to vote (I don't know enough about the game to really do so) but it's nice to see a let's play for it; I remember the advertising blitz it got in the gaming magazines when it came out, but like so many other well advertised games from that period, very few people remember it today. I'm looking forward to the LP.

Let's put it this way: it's not pleasant, but you feel so much better than you did before you puked that it's kind of a relief. At least assuming you're vomiting because you're sick or because something beyond your control (such as an odor) set off your gag reflex. I wouldn't know how people with bulimia feel after they've purged...

Storyline-wise, it would be the smart thing to start off with Mint first. The game makes it out to seem like Rue is the main character, and once you complete both storylines, there is a Coda after the credits.

So I think you should do both stories, first Mint, then Rue, for the sake of continuity.

Never heard of this game, but it looks cool. Count me in!

This game is one of my all time favorite Action RPGs. I hate to be a wet blanket, but if you were interested in saving time, playing through Rue's story would be just as effective as playing through both. Mint meets all the same characters and fights (mostly) the same bosses, but her story bits are comical and meant to be a foil to the genuine and emotional story of Rue.

HOWEVER!! If you have made up your mind that you are going to do both, then indeed start with Mint. It will be like watching a cartoon before the real movie starts.
