1st thought: Holy shit, someone else remembers this game!
2nd thought: If you're still undecided, you might want to go with Mint.
Rue's story is a bit more compelling, but Mint's is mostly more fun/funny. I don't think there are more than two or three dead serious moments (that aren't quickly interrupted with Mint doing a pratfall or someone pissing her off) in her whole story, even her talks with the main villain seemed to turn comical pretty quick.
Also, Mint can use all the magic she gets, Rue can turn into the last 4 monsters he killed, Mint is good with jumping, Rue is apparently weighed down with pouches, and if it's your first time playing, the mysteriousness Mint's story gives him is kinda ruined if you've played Rue already and know from the start who Claire is.

Had more to say here than I thought, Good luck with the LP!

Alright, thanks for all the input and information you guys! I'll start this up in a bit(Kind of on a League of Legends spree at the moment), Oh and I plan on doing the Unofficial sequel after this, Duo Princess. I actually played that before I played this, it came out back in 2003, since Square wasn't going to make a sequel EasyGameStation(The company we now know as the People who gave us Recettear.) Made a fan sequel, since Japan is much cooler about copyright and things like that.

Oh, how I've missed not seeing the word Enix slapped onto this.

More votes for Mint! Plus it was advised that she would be better to do first. So she's our first story path, 'Spunky' huh? I'm sure it's not too bad..

Not exactly perfect timing now, is it?

I'm sure that'll work.

"Pretty Tasty..."

You tell her! It worked wonders the last time Gramps.

Well, she isn't wrong.

She's quite the Gourmet.

"Once Pops croaks, I'll be living the easy life, you'll probably go before he does though Gramps. Heheheh."

Mint's sister, the other princess shows up, hopefully she's the good witch to our Wicked witch of the west.

Gramps:"Tried that already, she hit me with a logic bomb."

Maya tries instilling Morals into mint, which goes a lot like installing Windows Vista onto a Commodore 64.

Truly she is a bastion of Humility in an unhumble world.

PLOT TWIST.

Allow Rear Admiral Obvious to spell it out for you.

Creepy Fecker ain't he?

Well, you can't really say you never saw it coming can you? Oh, wait, you can.

1. Everything. 2. the grand Council.

"... Don't answer that."

Well, he's not wrong.

[HEADING=3]KAAAAAAMEEEEEE-HAAAAAMEEEE-[/HEADING]

-Ha? Well S%@&.

After having a Pumpkin dropped on her, Mint flees the scene vowing revenge, and an end to her trauma based Pumpkin phobia.

I apologize for discrepancies between images, a lot happens after advancing each line of dialogue, and sometimes I can't F12 fast enough. Any comments, or ways to improve? Also, Obligatory question: Who was in the right? The sister who probably would have wrecked the kingdom, or the sister who hides behind magic tomes of mass power?

That was freaking Hilarious, as for who was right and who was wrong. Well I believe that Maya is in the right mostly because the council voted on it, and that's just politics.
Maya did handle the situation poorly, even though Mint would be the worst fraking queen of all time.
I hope we see more grandpa in the future he's awesome

Well, it is a little hard to see the text you posted between screenshots.

I'd say we don't know well enough at this time to pass judgement.

EDIT: Not "Mass" judgement, you silly brain.

Well, no matter how evil her sister turns out (she will turn out evil, I can see it in her pixellated eyes), Mint was going to make everything terrible for everyone.

An interesting start, well done!

Yayyy, you're a spoiled princess.

I love how the East Heaven Kingdom is a Chinese Kingdom, essentially.

There's not enough China, in video games.

I need to play this game again.

I think either way this country would have been screwed, the power hungry sister probably would have done a better job but I'm guessing would have went mad with power. SO for now I'll go with her.

After the "Don't touch the food line!" I just keep envisioning her fondling the meal...

I wouldn't mind perhaps an extra space with the text to visually define which image it goes with, but it looks like you're off to a good start! *clap clap*

This is pretty much where I feel Mint's story should end. It would preferably be a sharp pointy end. Alas, no...
TO BE FAIR, she does get all the good gags. You get to see the lighter side of some of the other characters in her story.

Looking forward to more.

So! We play a little spoile brat who wishes to run the country as a tyrant. Huh...

So I guess in the long run her getting her ass booted to the curb will be better for her in the long run.... but what isn't more fun than a coup?

Lets go round up more firepower than god and wrest the controls from a sensible ruler and run a country into the ground!

Will it cost me street cred if I admit I'd never heard of this game before? :p

Good start and looking forward to more.

It may cost me some too, but I've never heard of this game.

It looks really interesting, though.
