Hi guys I haven't seen any posts about this game so I thought I would share.

www.wurmonline.com

It is exciting times in Wurm with tons of new features released such as multi-room housing that is player built, papyrus and ink for writing, and bridges and multi-story houses right around the corner. Everything in wurm is player made and the crafting system is amazing. You can build or terraform anything you can imagine. here is a fortress I built with some friends, dirt by dirt...

Anything is possible!

In wurm you have a few choices such as server cluster and kingdom to join.
You can play on "freedom" if you want no pvp or go to the "epic" cluster if you want to pvp.
Also you can travel between servers by boat! Cool stuff...

I play on the elevation server in the Epic cluster in the kingdom of Mol Rehan. If anyone wants to give this a try I'd be happy to help set you up with gear and tools and show you the ropes. Wurm has a free to play option and the premium is cheap, only 10e for 2 months!

If you havent tried wurm before or havent played in a long time I think you will be surprised, it is quite an exceptional mmo! If you ever dreamed of being a medeival warrior or building a kingdom from the ground up in every fashion then you may have finally found your perfect game!

I hope to see you guys in game, join Mol Rehan today on elevation and lets have some fun!

Here is more pics of the epic visuals you are in for...

The world is literally what you make of it!

Wurm is waiting, see you on Elevation I hope!

Stop spamming the forums with this shit. It doesn't make me want to play the game, in fact it just puts me off more.

Hey sorry for the double post Hazy992, my connection timed out when I was posting and I thought it didn't post. I have already sent a request to mods to delete the other thread. I don't see any option for me to delete it myself or I would...

@ranorak Wurm is pretty wide open. You can craft hundreds of items, agricultural farming, breed and raise animals, pvp, hunting, fishing, build cities and towns with full terraforming, build ships, mining, and tons more.

I don't know how viral this post is because I see tons of other games here with the same type of intro to XXXX game or review of such and such or inviting people to try out xxx game. I am pretty sure this is the correct place to post on these forums! I haven't seen this game mentioned on these forums and I wanted to introduce people to it and hopefuly get some guys playing and share the enjoyment I get out of this game.

Who builds a castle right next to a giant mountain? That doesn't seem very secure.

That first screen looks REALLY bad, like that wall is just stretched terrain, while the third is actually pretty nice.

I know your trying to make it look like your an average gamer, but its really not working too well. You've been around marketting people too long, the accent has rubbed off. Not that your account being created specifically for this purpose doesn't point out something wrong either ....

@zaik it is actually on top of a giant mountain, the peak is just off to the left in that pic.

Ya Ranarok, I had to get pretty far away to get the whole thing in, it's huge and my graphics card sucks. lol The third pic is what you can expect with your graphics turned up, I play with them turned down generally for pvp reasons.

Antari you must have visited my FB page since that's how I logged in and discerned that I manage a sales office but that is off topic, I am a pretty average gamer though, my first system was a commodore 16. Old school =]

I wouldn't call it glorifying it. Wurm has alot of rough spots, I just shared what I enjoy about the game.

To be sure the graphics may seem a bit dated, visual armor is not yet in the game, lots of bugs etc. But it is enjoyable and unique. I just figured I would share some of the games I play since I decided to join this forum. Crucify me. Hopefully when I hit 744 posts I am making sensible and constructive posts...

Considering you're the second new account in two days spamming this game, I call bullshit on that.

Nah I'm the only account, as stated earlier I timed out while posting and thought it didn't post. I also requested a mod delete the second post... Truly sorry if I offended your sensibilities.

Just sharing a game maybe not alot have heard of, I usually enjoy seeing or hearing about new games, such is the purpose of this forum...

BTW Wurm has been around for almost a decade. So ya...

This is actually a pretty cool game and the mmo that I stuck out with the longest. But like most mmos eventually I started to get bored. Wurm has 2 phases the initial survival phase which is kind of like man vs wild in the dark ages and the maintenance phase which occurs once you are high level and owns large tracts of land (not all that fun since it becomes a grind from then on). Even so, Wurm has a certain charm to it I really don't know how else to explain why I like this game. The shitty character models and the lackluster animations would probably turn away most people no matter how nice the environmental graphics are.

The reason I've come out of lurking to post about this game is that most people take one look at it and skips past to a fancier game, without taking the time to try it out. If you can get over the bad animations and models its pretty fun. There are no quests, instead you have adventures. Not in the sense of generated story lines but just going outside your door and trying not to get lost and eaten on your way to a neighboring village. Some of the accounts are pretty fun reads.

ps sorry for the rambling post, I'm missing sleep.

WOW! I think I'll sign up for a life time membership!

I joke.. but it's nice to see this game still alive and kicking, I remember trying it out many moons ago, before there was much of... well anything in it... kinda bad, but it looks like they've come a long way, thats pretty cool I guess.

There are even visible spell affects now whereas before there was little to none, also new animals like bison, hell horses and hell hounds, and many of the models are getting updated by an outside animation company Rolf has hired to redo the animal models.

Multi-story and visible armor so close I can taste it....

Heres an update:

Ive started working on a place called Poenari Castle. It is near a Hunt Of The Ancients zone.
This is a zone where you get rewards for killing other players, such as rare materials to craft with and titles. I thought it would be good to have a base nearby!

This actually seems pretty cool! I'm kinda tied up with games like Dragon's Dogma and Xenoblade Chronicles, but I'll keep the client on standby!

So it's like a cross between Minecraft and EVE? ugh, sounds awful... may have to give it a try.

It's funny that you bring Minecraft up. This game was worked on by Notch prior to him leaving and making Minecraft. If you are into sandboxes, this game is for you. If you are a graphics snob, honestly this game is still for you but wait until after the 1.0 release sometime in December/January as the graphics will have changed greatly by then. Including characters customization and visible armor to add an extra level of immersion.

Some of my fondest gaming memories have came from Wurm so far. This being during the "survival phase" as outlined in the post above.

The game is not for everyone, I'll volunteer that information up front. However, for those who truly love a sandbox environment, this game is for you.

EDIT:

Regarding the terrain stretched in the first photo. The OP is a player on the Epic server cluster, meaning the PVP server cluster. Those tall terrain walls force players to have to "climb" up them, reducing stamina and better protecting the city from other players. I originally played on Epic and was accustomed to such things. However, the more popular non-PVP cluster (Freedom) you do not see terrain being stretched like this nearly as often. It does happen for building platforms on mountains, but for the most part the areas designed on Freedom look a bit more elegant.
