That was literally my first thought when I saw the title of the thread.
OT: Yeah, learn to spell it, and even then, no.

Seriously, two average murderers fighting to death (not as common in the Coliseum as you'd think) would be an extremely boring spectacle. Also what if they escape? Or if they rebel? Wow, now you have an army of trained, armed and organised criminals! I bet that prison is looking cheap compared to the swathe of rape and murder that will ensue!

Its not at all irrelevant, these things are fictional, and you are fully aware they are fictional. There is a massive difference between fiction and reality. Enjoying watching somebody actually loose their life is hugely different from enjoying watching a fictional/fake portrayal of somebody loosing their life in that you know no one is actually suffering and dying. To gain entertainment out of the real suffering and death of others is just barbaricspartan231490 said:That's why I said slightly. You are still gaining enjoyment out of the perceived suffering and conflict to the death of living human beings. Whether or not the danger is real is partly irrelevant.
You just mixed Running Man with the rehabilitation from Idiocracy. I don't know if I should hug or slap you.Antari said:We definately need The Running Man to come to life. Just without the cheesy accents and bad one liners, although that will be hard to avoid if Hollywood is involved. But forget the colloseum, an old pile of rocks. Need a larger more modern specticle of an event. Lots of different camera angles. And sponsors as far as the eye can see. Will the Energizer Bunny (Could be some wild sort of battlebot) take down the triple murderer? If they can make it all the way through they are free to go. But we'll make sure thats pretty much impossible.
Take a look at the news. What do you see? Chances are, you'll see real reports on human suffering, death, war and destruction. And many people love to watch that. They love to see others suffer, to make themselves feel better.uro vii said:There is a massive difference between fiction and reality. Are you kidding? It might not be as popular as MMA or something where no one dies, but it'd still be successful.shoot and hope said:Not many people would watch.
