Miyamoto is finally On and he's talking about his first Project: "Giant Robot". He's also going to be talking about "Project Guard" and a New Star Fox!
Oh yeah. I do remember that now that you mention it. I guess I should reiterate that I'm fine with PC processing if it's close to the power of the console in question. But if your doing it beyond the actual powers of the console itself to make your game look better than what it can actually achieve...you can just fuck off.Neronium said:Just so you know, generally all E3 games for when the console isn't out yet is just a PC with specs similar to how the actual console will be. It's always been that way, and games running off the dev kits before the console launch is very common. Nintendo has done it, as have Sony, Microsoft, and SEGA. Hell if you see their old dev kits they are giant. Once the console launches however, if it is running off a PC then it's very shady. Remember, last year the PS4 and the Xbox One hadn't launched yet, so them running off basically a PC is a given.Dragonbums said:They also aren't sneaks like Microsoft and Sony so if it turns out that this is backed by a processing computer I will be horribly shocked.
One thing I remember was in E3 1996 Nintendo ran Mario Kart 64 off a PC that had specs slightly better than the N64, some things are different because of the little extra power, but that's generally it.
Heck, dev kits have gotten smaller from their old 6th generation counterparts that's for sure:

Usually after the first year all the consoles switch to running off actual systems, but there are times in which they still run off dev kits. Over time though I've seen the dev kits change to being much similar to the console itself. Then generally the ones that are sent to specific companies are usually more like the consoles as well. I know there's an image of a dark tealish GameCube sent to Activision floating around, especially since nowadays dev kits are going on the market for the older systems.Dragonbums said:Oh yeah. Let's not forget that according to Destructoid Nintendo also confirmed a new Star Fox game.aegix drakan said:Well, shit, Nintendo.
You REALLY did it this time. >: ( I can't afford a WiiU at the moment, and now I REALLY REALLY want one.
The Elder Triforce Hyrulerim? Sold.
Dynasty Zelda with more playable characters, including a super badass Zelda? Sold.
Bayonetta 1 and 2? With some Nintendo content? *grumble* Sold...
Yoshi's Epic Wool? SOLD.
Mechwarrior Xenoblade? ...Cautiously optimistic, hopefully they're not gonna go WAY over the top.
Squidwars shooter of OMGWTFISTHISINSANITY? Modsbannit Nintendo! SOLD!
Miis in Smash Broos WiiU? WITH CUSTOMIZABLE MOVESETS?!?! !@#$ING SOLD!
And seeing a few teasers for Smash Bros 3DS also has me hyped. Now all I need is to see Sonic on the 3DS version and I will flip out and be confined to a psych ward until I can get my hands on it.
Hasn't stopped some devs from trying though :/Neronium said:If the game is pulling a fast one like that though, it's usually found out really quickly what with the internet and all.
Oh wow. So that's how dev kits look like in general? Wow oh wow. I'm ignorant so I thought they were like...small boxes with manuals or something stupid like that. Also, found this Wii U dev kit...man I'm actually glad it changed to the one we know now.

Look at those almost blocky curves!
Now the modern Wii U dev kits look like the Wii U basic model, but they still have that little dongle on the top of the GamePad I've noticed.
That's always gonna be the case though in all honesty. It's why I generally try to kill my hype for things around E3...although it's hard to kill hype for Ratchet and Clank for me... But mainly I get a general hype from E3, and then kill it quickly and usually reserve judgement until I play the game myself.Dragonbums said:Hasn't stopped some devs from trying though :/
That's how they used to look. Like I said, dev kits usually change to being smaller over time, and the new Wii U dev kits look similar to the Wii U Basic model, but still have some of the features of the dev kit that the original one. One of them being the little dongle thing on the top of the GamePad. Honestly I've yet to find a dev kit a small as the GameCube ones, and like the old Net Yaroze. That thing looks exactly like a PS1, but it's not just that, it's also the only model that is both a dev kit as well as being region free for the PS1...and they are expensive as hell just like GameCube dev kits, and just as rare. >.< (I'm a collector so to speakOh wow. Wii U looks....yeah I like the new one.
The Pokemon side of me is saying this is a really subtle reference to the Dragon and Fairy type dynamic in Pokemon X and Y.xaszatm said:You know what? Nintendo didn't drop the bombs this year...THEY DROPPED THE FREAKING MOON!

What else is there to say? Well besides the Treehouse Direct is perhaps the best idea for E3 ever. Seriously, long 15+ minutes of full gameplay plus interviews with developers. Not to mention that the treehouse staff is more personable than most game journalists.
That's no moon...it's FAERIES! Who ever thought faeries could fuck shit up with such ease? Plus Reggie is saying they'll have more news tomorrow on other stuff. So far Nintendo's stuff just seems so much more FUN than everything else.xaszatm said:You know what? Nintendo didn't drop the bombs this year...THEY DROPPED THE FREAKING MOON!

You know what that moon makes me want...Majoras Mask HD! Dammit Nintendo, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker had their time, now where's my damn Majora's Mask HD already!?Dragonbums said:It's like the Zelda version of Moonblast taking that Dragon down 30 notches.
ergh. That moon is waaaay to creepy for me. But same. I really want to see a Majora's mask remake....and DK64. But you told me about the setbacks they have with that.Neronium said:You know what that moon makes me want...Majoras Mask HD! Well the setbacks for DK are for Virtual Console release, not from remaking it if they were to ever do it. Only thing they'd technically not be able to use is the DK Rap, as Nintendo doesn't own the rights to it, Rare does. Everything else I'd assume they'd just make from scratch like they did for Wind Waker HD. Although a DK64 without the DK Rap isn't really DK64... :/Dragonbums said:ergh. Just finished watching it and I SO wanted Kirby to win! But the scarf guy had to stall until sudden death! That was so intense though, one of the best parts of E3 for me.InsanityRequiem said:And now we have the Invitational! With Sakurai as the "surprise" quest leading into the tournament. And he looked completely floored by the reception he received.
Not gonna like though I honestly think Zero Suit Samus was just...too fast with too powerful moves for my tastes. In a sense she seemed pretty broken. The only reason why Kirby lasted as long as he did was because he was pretty decent at dodging, but when he got hit it was really unforgiving. They need to slow her down. Or at the very least diminish the damage of her attacks.ToastiestZombie said:Just finished watching it and I SO wanted Kirby to win! But the scarf guy had to stall until sudden death! And think about this for a second: with everything the dev team has said, VANILLA Samus is supposed to be even better. That's kinda terrifying.Dragonbums said:Not gonna like though I honestly think Zero Suit Samus was just...too fast with too powerful moves for my tastes. In a sense she seemed pretty broken. After all, he was literally the only player in the tournament to get "boos" for everyone. And I'm not saying the man is a bad player in the slightest, but it seems that I wasn't the only one who thought Zero Suit was way too OP in that tournament.
