It will be fun even if it does not live up to its hype. I am glad it has gone t russian mob instead of damn LA Gangsta (god i hate them). I think they will keep it pretty much the same basic mechanic and tweek a tiny bit and fix bugs of earlier games. I cant wait to hang off helicopters though. Drive by's should be easier as well. It is nearly impossible to drive around a car properly and shoot while turning corners and shiz.

More easter Eggs. Any promotion websites for items advertised on the radio been launched yet? Speaking of radio put good music in this one >.< ok i know subjective. I want a station that has sort of a Burnout: Revenge soundtrack. That will be the best i can hope for in a commercial game.

Oh yeah, anyone think this game will bring up 'controversy' like all the last ones? I swear every time one of these comes out, two days later it's on the news...it's like Rockstar is paying them off or something....(or the other way around).

Also, why was the Hot Coffee mod such a big deal? There are tons of "nude/sex mods" out there for so many games that I can't even think of how many there are because I don't know what comes after a trillion..., anyway what made Hot Coffee so special? I mean, it's not like GTA was a kids friendly game to begin with. >_>
The number after trillion is quadrillion. Followed by quintillion, septillion, sextillion, and octillion.

Personally i look forward to it because i believe you play a russain and not the average american gangsta. i like change. But still....They need some really new or im gunna lose all interest. Most of them are the same mission as the game before and even the stories arent to difernet. Ill buy it. but i dont really care for it..

LALALALALA {Fingers in ears, I'm trying to avoid anything at all about GTA IV in an attempt to avoid getting super-hyped over it.}

8 grand?! Do these people wipe their asses with 100 dollar bills?!
Of course not, they use baby seal fur, the $100 bills are for starting the fireplace.
Someone willing to pay 8K for a +/-$150 console game must drive a stretch hummer, throw away their clothing after one use, cook an entire 40lb turkey just for 3oz of white turkey breast, and live alone in a house large enough to consider a 5-Star hotel. I'm serious...
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,317014,00.html heres the story, 4 months later i still laugh at it.
Yeah but the game is not rare.

It has multiplayer mode, that's new
Didn't Liberty City Stories have that?
Had mulitplayer but it wasn't online.

However, GTA2 had online multiplayer. It was a bit broken but still quite enjoyable.

My appreciation got GTA had wavered over the years. The first GTA was fantastic yet I never bothered to buy number 2 as it was more of the same. 3 I liked but had no compulsion to buy Vice City until launch day and liked it over 3. San Andreas I couldn?t wait for and I bought a PSP to play Liberty City Stories? only to sell the PSP and the game after a few hours of play. Vice City Stories I didn?t bother with. Now GTA 4 is almost here I can?t wait for it.

It?s affecting the games I?ve been playing for the past few weeks as I find they are no longer adequate. I daydream about the fun to be had from everything I?ve read about GTA 4 so far and I was frothing at the mouth at the mention of multiplayer. I guess I?ve been a fan since the series began which isn?t something I can say for many game series. Everything about GTA 4 sounds like an improvement. The smaller but denser location is a blessing and the main character has seriously piqued my interest.

The only thing I fear for is the drink driving aspect of the game. People are going to be looking to damn anything controversial about this game and dissing it for car stealing, cop killing, law breaking action has become boring. I?ll be surprised if news outlets don?t pick up on the drink driving aspect and run with it all the way to sensationalist headlines about the game encouraging kids to drink and drive for ?points? and blaming drink driving offences in reality on the game.

I dont want to be rude or anyrhing but if u dont care for a game then why buy it. Im definently getting it because ive seen all the vids and read all about it the multiplayer looks sweet and u get to create your own character thats a first i think for a GTA game (Cops n' Robbers looks awesome) sooooooooooo thats my opinion

septillion comes after sextillion. Just thought I'd correct that.

As for GTA IV...not hyped at all. I've not really been interested in GTA before this, for some reason. Probably would enjoy it, but I've never had the real urge to try it out. Might change with this iteration, might not. Waiting to see, really.

Im excited, if only because it is a GTA game. I've liked all the GTAs so far; though San Andreas was too ghetto gospal for me, paticularly in latter parts of game. That said, I get the feeling GTA IV is setup to be the most "serious" of the franchise yet, & since its anarchic silly charm is the reason I still occasionally play GTA 2 im not as excited as I was about, say, GTA III or Vice City.

I agree with everyone that wants fully destructable enviorments, construction crews, fully accsesable stores, and the like because I will give up everything looking photo realalistic graphics for more gameplay.

Too be hounest thats would be really hard to do for Rockstar and GTA because if you made fully destructable enviroments then your looking at rebuilding the whole of the GTA IV World you would have to layer everything and because of all the different things in it you would have to have a set of constant values (I think not sure)and how those values where added subtracted and what not. I know they have done it in some games but look at them they are mission based so its easier to do that than a whole expansive world like GTA. To be hounest I would love to have fully destructable enviroments but not gonna happen right now

I'm not really expecting anything particularly earth shattering from this game, just prettier graphics and a load more things to do, but that isn't a bad thing. I was a big fan of the early games and enjoyed GTA3, Vice city got the formula just about perfect with the awesome music, great characters and well realized city. GTA:SA was a bit too big for me and the philosophy seemed to be quantity over quality, I still played and enjoyed it though despite a certain lack of the humour that was so prevalent in the earlier games. Really the most fun I have had with these games is just to grab a fast bike and just head out in some random direction, the sense of speed and the reward from avoiding traffic and pulling off insane stunts really made the game for me.

I've fallen hard for the hype machine this time around. I've read all of IGN's previews, including their 3RL podcast where they talk about it for about an hour. I've read the two leaked UK magazine reviews (OXM and OPM) and watched all the trailers on HD on my XBox. I'm just terribly excited for the game.

The multiplayer seems to have enormous potential. The fact that the entire city is available to freeroam added to the multiple fun-looking gametypes make me want this all the more. It's tough to not get sucked in.

I have of course pre ordered GTAIV already, but I was wondering if anyone else thinks those little tasks needed to get 100%, will be converted into the gamerscore/points whatever I confuse the two.
