The very game I came here to mention! I must admit I actually shelled out ?20 the other day buying the entire Rare Replay bundle just for Battletoads so that I could go back and crack that damn speeder section.Maximum Bert said:The speed tunnel in Battletoads was always my bane. I did clear it once but I only had one life left then died next level and its right back to the start of the game. Never beat it again. I really liked the first two levels but the speed tunnel was just a brick wall I did not even enjoy attempting.
Omg, that fight was SNK boss levels of frustrating. It took me a couple days to beat that monster. It doesn't help that in story mode you flip between a bunch of characters so you never really get too good with any of them. I just had to find that one Raiden combo that I could pull off, and kept using that to punish when I could. I think it was mostly luck that fight, needed a favourable attack pattern. You knew you were screwed when he would spam his charges, and rush you the hell down.Mortis Nuncius said:In Mortal Kombat (2011) the final battle against Shao Kahn was just absolute torture.
Yeah. I remember this one. beat it by rolling a pen over the 'A' button.Kajin said:That damnable button mashing strength test from Star Fox Adventures.
And this one was a bane of my for awhile. Didn't help that english is not my native language. Nowadays it is a diffirent story.the silence said:Remember the first/tutorial level of Driver?
Yeah.
Dear god, the first Rayman game was practically made out of that sort of Level.VG_Addict said:We've all been there. When we were younger, we had a level that no matter how hard we tried, we just kept dying on, and then we got so frustrated, we quit. Well, what was yours?
Mine was Allegro Presto in the first Rayman game.
This right here! Not only was it a water level, but you had to swim around defusing bombs, avoiding harmful plant life with tiny little gaps to swim between and the worst part... That shit had a TIME LIMIT!!! I never made it past it either.Imperioratorex Caprae said:TMNT NES: The Dam. Of course, because its a fucking WATER LEVEL. Pre-emulators, and were I not already having them, I'd have developed a chronic migraine syndrome due to that level because damn... I had less trouble beating the hyper-bike level on Battletoads, finishing Ghosts n' Goblins the correct way and beating Frankenstein on Castlevania.
Gimel Coin lets you save anywhere except the Abyss. You should try them. Gimel Coins that is, not the Abyss, that place is hell.Raddra said:Wild Arms 3.
Really late in the game you come across this level with the random door puzzle and must go through a correct series of doors to get past the puzzle.
The kicker? Random encounters aren't disabled for this area of game. And you only get to battle the last boss after you go through all the puzzle doors. Can't save afterwards. After enduring this and losing to the boss 3-4 times I just upped and quit and never touched the game again.
It was a terrible end for what was otherwise a great game.
I don't know if you beat it or not, but I actually learned the "correct" way to mash. It involves swiping your fingernail over the button back and forth rather than pressing down. Now I'm unbeatable at Mario PartyKajin said:That damnable button mashing strength test from Star Fox Adventures.
"-let 'em have it."Michel Henzel said:Embarrassingly I could not get through the first level of Halo 2, atleast I think it was like the first level. Not really that the game is that hard, it's just I'm really that horrible at using a controller. Thankfully the game was in a bargain bin for like 2,50 so not really a big deal.
Also the first boss of ninja gaiden on the xbox, I just could not do it and gave up after dozens of attempts. Being bad at using a controller probably didn't help. XD
I doubt my competence levels have gone up over the years, haha. But alas, even if I wanted to, I sold that old thing a long time ago.Arnoxthe1 said:"-let 'em have it."Michel Henzel said:Embarrassingly I could not get through the first level of Halo 2, atleast I think it was like the first level. I imagine you heard that an endless amount of times. XD
As to NG, that sucks, man. Go back and play!!! Murai (first boss) is there for one purpose really. To make sure the player knows how to block and dodge properly. I was stuck too until it finally sunk into my thick skull to do it. lol But yeah, even today, Ninja Gaiden/Ninja Gaiden Black has aged pretty darn well. That's why I highly recommend you go back to it.
Same... and then, afterwords, I would forget how I got passed it in the first place whenever I replayed said level...VG_Addict said:We've all been there.
