I'm looking for a new game. I'm looking for something with a fantasy-like setting but magic isn't required (see below for more info), either a strategy where you play as a Noble (or something similar) or an RPG where you play as an individual. Something along the following lines:

-Set in the Medieval era (or a Feudal Age theme).
-Comlex, preferably a RTS, TBS or RPG.
-More recent would be good, but classics are welcome.
-PC or 360 platform.

Appreciate any recommendations.

Bladestorm might fit your description. Give it a look and see for yourself. You control one person, but can take control of different units. It's quite a lot of fun.

Medieval Total War
Morrowind
Oblivion
Fable 1 (go with The Lost Chapters)

And thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now. I'm sure others can recommend more.

If you don't mind a thoroughly broken combat system, you'll probably enjoy Morrowind

Second for Dragon Age. The game is huge, complex, filled with great history (as BioWare games tend to be) and they're still releasing DLC for it. It's quite strategic for being an RPG and can be quite difficult. I'd definitely pick it up. Plus it's an interesting rewrite of the standard Humans/Elves/Dwarves high fantasy setting (for instance the Elves are mostly slaves so if you play an Elf people really dislike you from the get-go)

360 and PC: Oblivion
360: Fable II this the only game I can think of and it's not even that great
PC: The Total War games

Dragon Age. Hands down.
Surprised it went as many posts as it did before this was mentioned.

Of the 2, I'd recommend the pc version as it is more tactical/strategy based than the console version

I'm waiting for a blend between Oblivion and Morrowind. Oblivion level graphics, combat and physics, and Morrowind EVERYTHING ELSE.

Thanks guys! Just an update: I already have DragonAge (completely agree on it's quality).

A question to the Oblivion recommendations: I already have Fallout 3, will Oblivion still bring something new to the table? Other then a different setting and theme, will it bring new gameplay?

Oblivion is basically a medieval version of Fallout 3 so not really.

The combat is very different, too. But honestly, if you can deal with the dated graphics, I'd pick up Morrowind over Oblivion. It was a much better game (get the PC version, obviously)

Try looking up mount and blade and RPG like oblivion just without magic and with a hundred troops in your command.

Crap graphics but good gameplay

With a couple mods It can start to be like a RTS

Eh, stick with Fallout 3, it's pretty much the same thing if you replace the guns with swords. I'd say bows but who uses bows, amirite?

And if you want a fantasy RPG RTS, Warcraft! Pick up the battle chest for nothing and a half.
