Except that's not true, if you pronounce it using the Ly sound in the states it's a clear sign you're talking about something you don't understand and are just sounding it out phonetically (as Linus is pronounced with a Ly sound in English) - everyone who actually uses/knows enough about to be coherently discussing Linux pronounces it like Linus Torvalds does [small](or they're stubbornly saying it wrong because they started saying it wrong and refuse to change now)[/small]. After all, he ought to know the correct way to pronounce his own operating system's name.Catkid906 said:Well that would make sense. Considering American accents, I guess it's easier.OptimusHagrid said:I think this word is sussecpible to Britishisms and Americanisms.
Brits say Li, Americans say Ly.
Calumon: What about Digimon Accents?
We do? Damn it, I better pay closer attention.OptimusHagrid said:I think this word is sussecpible to Britishisms and Americanisms.

I say Li-nux; therefore this statement is invalid. XD Then again, I also went to college for computer programming, so we all formed a consensus early on; heh.OptimusHagrid said:I think this word is sussecpible to Britishisms and Americanisms.
