The reason we people lie is because THEY CAN. Now one knows their name or has seen them irl and therefore have complete anonymity.

Why do you assume people lie about these things? My pet dragon is getting angry at you good sir. Mainly because he's aggravated due to my penis being at least 12 times larger than he is and I won't let him play rhythm guitar when I play live with the Foo Fighters.

Essentially this is about people who say things online that simply arent true. Whats the point? "Im *insert famous dude in clip above*'s cousin!" or "My penis is THIS big" or "I have several girlfriends who..." and i never really understood the point of this. Anyone out there know why they do this?

P.s. My penis is actually 12 inches, ask your mum.
Why are people LIEING in the internet? Sorry, had to do it...

We're taught from a very early age that we're not exciting, good-looking, or successful enough. True adults respond to this by trying to find some happiness anyway (adults here occasionally refers to teens), only to discover that none of the above really matters for shit. Grown children feel the need to embellish just to make their life seem interesting.

People who lie have something to prove, or something to make up for

It's a simple mathematical equation:

Average guy+Audience+Anonimity=Complete Asshole.

This is also known as Jonathan Gabriel's Greater Internet Dickwad Theory.

Nobody on the internet actually cares about you(implied, not personally), so that's why poeple lie.

Plus it's a fun way to while away a rainy afternoon

If you think about it, it's funny when you trick people into believing silly thing, isn't it? Like in real life. So why should it be different on the net.

Plus what everyone else said.
