Same type of thing happened to me on team fortress 2. I was walking about and someone said over steam chat (who wasn't play team fortress 2) "spy behind you!" Then I got backstabbed...

Mine is a relationship one like Razada's
Basically there was a girl I had a crush on, but my best friend also did as well, this girl asked me out but I knew my friend wanted her more than me, I said no to be nice to my friend.
Later on he asked her out and she said no to him.
After that I asked her out again because I did like her but she said no to me and I decided I didn't really like her and given up on trying to get her to go out with me.

Next month she asks me out, I say yes, my friend asks her out...she says yes to him and dumps me :\

Well I considered it a lie, I wasn't doing anything to try and find a girlfriend.
She likes that I'm very insecure, it means I don't have the balls to talk to anyone I don't already know so she knows there is no way I can cheat on her.

But cheating is too much effort anyway, it takes away from my gaming time

Nah, trust me. I've heard months afterwards from an ex that it's hard to love someone who hates themselves.
I'd say sort your self-image out. And if she's that insecure, she ought to do the same. Can't really have a relationship based on low self-image. Turns into a drama-filled hellhole quite speedily.
