Just bored, figured I might start a discussion...
So escapist,
Have you ever lied about anything major and gotten away with it? The most ive done is invented a a holiday girlfriend that didnt exist. It was fun because people actually believed me despite having no photographs or proof of any kind.... Probably couldnt get away with that now because of facebook lol. How about you guys?

I lie a fair bit.
But mainly White Lies to help others.

But the one I do most often is
"Do you fancy her?"
"No"

Doesn't work though.

I don't think I've lied about anything really big before. Well, I spent a few years online pretending that I was two years older than I really was. It got to the point where I had to invent VCE subjects and other crap, which got very complicated. I guess I could've told them that I signed up to the forum at the age of 11, but at the time, I thought they'd think less of me.

But that's probably it. I don't like telling major lies, because it gets really confusing, and it just comes around to smack you in the back of the head sooner or later.

No, as I don't lie about major things. Not much point to it in my eyes.

Nothing major, really. I lied once this year but I really don't like to lie about anything. I wouldn't have done so in the first place if this guy I was talking to was thinking I was lying with every single word that came out of my mouth (which wasn't the case in the first place). But after a while I got so stuck up with him that I thought: what does it really matter? If your mindset is set on distrust in the first place, to hell with you.

I lie about everything. I lie about my age, I lie about who I am. Truth isn't as fun but tellign people that you only tell the truth when you only lie always makes me laugh :D I can keep my stories straight though so

I can't remember lying about anything major. I try to stay as honest as possible, because I figure lying will only cause more problems at the end of the day. I think life would be a lot smoother if people would just try to be as honest as they can.

OT: I lie all the time. I'm extremely self-conscious so I do it to make myself more interesting. It doesn't work really...

Yep, same here.
Is it wrong that I don't regret doing it?

Yes I have but that was... ages ago when I was young, reckless and foolish. And I got away with it.
But now days no, never. I can avoid telling things, but whatever I am asked I'll answer with the truth and nothing but the truth. Heh. Ironically, I am lied A LOT. Like incredibly a lot. Of course I always find out (last), but damn it that hurts.

In primary school, I told my mum that a kid (that I had never spoken to) said he pissed on a relative's grave, when he didn't. My mum told the headteacher, who then gave the kid a "red card" despite him denying everything. I only said it as a dare, I was a little shit at the time, and all the way through high school. I also bought a knife and when I pulled it out the casing, I cut straight into my finger. I was only like 10, so I threw the knife over my neighbour's fence and said I fell on glass. The neighbour got in trouble because he found the knife and decided to keep it, and my parents believed I fell on glass.

Sometimes, but whether I'm lying or not doesn't change that most people in my secondary school only heard (and then spread) what they wanted to hear.

Unfortunately, sometimes it was a true secret, even if they were just guessing.
