Ever have one of those moments when you find something in your daily lives that just strikes you as mildly odd or just makes you go "WTF?"?

Like at work today, I discovered a door with two signs. The one on top read "Not An Exit" and the sign underneath that said "This door is not an entrance".

It made me go, "Well, if it's not an exit...and it's not an entrance...is this thing still a door? And if it isn't...then what the hell is this?"

What are some of your little oddities in life, Escapists?

A month ago i was in walmart, and at the check out i was looking at magazie covers.

One magazine, cant remember which, had Selena Gomez on it (age 16) in a skimpy type dress, and in a spread eagle type of pose. The Largest words on the magazine was this "50 sex tips"

I stopped and just thought WTF! Did the editors just not pick up on the underage girl in a suggestive pose, long with the lettering 50 sex tips. Sure some may not read into that at all. It just struck me as very odd.

Not long ago, I was driving down the highway, when I passed a sign instructing me to turn left to head to Whitesville or right to go to Blacksburg. I appreciated that they didn't beat around the bush

It is clearly a very large window.
A window with no glass?
Or a very loose section of the wall.
I got news for you: You hit any wall with enough force, it'll become a very loose section of a wall. Or a wall with a big goddamn hole in it. Or it'll cease to be a wall.

A very bad window.

Well in this case it came pre-loosened.
Touche on both accounts. It still begs the question, though - if a door is made to not be an entrance or an exit, is it still technically a door?

On that note, I saw a tiny, knee high door at a train station which I initially assumed had some switches and electronics behind it. As I approached I saw that it said "Must have permission before entry" on a plaque attached to it. Presumably that was a notice for the elves that work for City Rail.

Perhaps your door is the only thing supporting the wall and if it is opened the building will collapse.

Sounds like that door just leads to a room, but not one with a door to the outside.

I always get a kick out of signs that say 'aliens must get a visa' when you go abroad. I know it's technically correct, but it sounds so amusing to me.

I heard someone say "my own personal stalker" the other day, and it made me think, can you stalk someone in a completely impersonal manner?? I mean stalking just seems to be personal already, it's implied in the act or something.

Well, maybe if you find out what the door is for, the Universe will collapse and restart into something much much more complicated.

Yesterday I was studying untill 3 in the morning and as I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, i noticed my washing machine has a "handwash" function. I wondere why the hell I would use that.

Reminded me of this Terry Pratchett quote:

"It's the color past ultra-violet. The technical term for it is infra-black. It can be seen quite easily under experimental conditions. To perform the experiment simply select a healthy brick wall with a good run-up, and, lowering your head, charge.
The color that flashes in bursts behind your eyes, behind the pain, just before you die, is infra-black."
I was walking down the street one fine summer's day, when a beat up grey sedan goes speeding down the road. I see the boot (trunk, to all you yanks) is loose, and two pairs of legs are visible dangling from our the side (connected, I assume, to two people).

Gomez is 19. You can pose like that when you turn 18 (over here in the UK, anyway) Unless you mean the picture is from when she was 16, in which case I'm sure how you can tell because she's looked about 13 for the past 6 years.

OT: When I went to my last Expo I saw this sign:

Also where I used to live, I was there for about 10 months when I realised there was a windmill sort of thing behind my house :s they must have built it over night.

Pretty much recently at work, one of the products (we got a garden section) we sell is vegetable seeds like potatoes, onions and garlic ready to be planted. The thing is three of them had already sprouted out and burst out of the holes in the bag which is kind of creepy (kind of like a Little Petshop of Horror).
Ok sure those products has a little of soil within those bag but it somehow still grow with no water and using shop lights as the source of light.
