Your machine is more or less on-par with mine, and mine wasn't top of the range when I bought it a year and a half ago and is beginning to show age. Nonetheless, I can still play the newest games on High settings, though not maximum. I'd say our computers will be good to keep playing games on High settings til the end of the year at least before an upgrade is due.

Core 2 Quad q6600 2.4ghz
2GB DDR2 800MHZ Ram
Geforce 8800GT 512MB (this is better than the original GTX and GTS 512mb models as they are no longer in production)
Asus p5n32-e sli mobo

Somehow, I wound up owning Crysis.
