Okay, sure, i'll buy most of my games from...

uh...

about that...

OT: It was probably just a mistake on your behalf, or on Steam's behalf. Check your receipt, it is entirely possible that you accidentally just purchased Fallout 2, or maybe Steam just had a hiccup. Steam isn't some all-powerful overlord out to steal your $2.50, just send a ticked to Steam support.

I don't buy many games from Steam.
*See in my account my 667 games*
However I buy a lot of CHEAP, VERY CHEAP Videogames Bundles which of course most of them are for Steam.
Seriously I think I want to play only 100 specific games from the 667 I have.
Sadly I have 500+ in my wishlist.....and some games in my account in Pinterest.....

Please God help me

sounds to me like you should of went to gog.com first before crying about steam sales. There are plenty of other good finds, I always go to GOG first for games and steam after, steam has a wider range but GOG has better prices usually and is more consumer friendly.

Both Steam and GoG are good imo. I don't have issues with either. Origin, on the other hand, can go fuck itself.

Thing about GOG is...whoever it is that owns the classic Fallouts now (is it Bethesda?) doesn't want them on GOG anymore, apparently...

Steam's the only place apart from old discs.

As opposed to what? If I buy my games from Origin then I'll only get a fraction of my money's worth at Steam. Besides, I have never had a single problem with Steam once. I'd wager that your isolated incident isn't going to convince the more than 50 million happy users

Steam also has that amazing game share feature that Xbox One was saying required the 100% always online for. That's right, authorize a friend/family member on your account and they can install and play any game on your library as long as you are not playing that specific game. This is without always online and if you decide to launch the game while a friend is playing your copy? It give them 5 minutes to save and drop out before shutting the game down.

.
I presume you mean the steam family share feature, and in such case do i regret to inform you that it does not work like that, What it does is to check if any game on the library which you borrowed to friend or family is in use, not that specific game, and then gives them 5 min before kick, it does not even separate from Free to play games and bought which have lead to numerous bugs (but that is a another matter).

Actually, I frequently see a "collection" on sale as an ad tile on the home page. But when you click it, it lists out the games and the price was for only one game. So the price for the "collection" on the homepage was wrong. They do that a lot. It's weird, but you have a chance to see the real prices after you click the ad.

They apparently updated it because I was in a game, Freedom Planet while my friend was playing Shadow Run Returns. Both games were on my account only so something was either wonkey or they updated it. Apparently things have changed, I don't use games on others accounts so I don't have experience from that angle.

That seems to be a bug, which i have not manage to replicate, According to: http://store.steampowered.com/promotion/familysharing

"Can two users share a library and both play at the same time?

No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time. "

and also

"Can I share specific games, or do I have to share my whole library?

Libraries are shared and borrowed in their entirety. "

And I am not allowed to launch any game on shared when that library is in use by the owner, If you could replicated your bug and tell me how you did it, that would be very welcome.

I bought Gothic 3 a few months back for a similar price and couldn't get it working at all, but for that small amount of cash - barely half a lager in the pub -, and the fact that it's very rare it happens too (if it is indeed Steam's fault at all), then I don't think it's worth worrying about tbh.
I'm fairly sure there's a fan patch. Gothic 3 is apparently notoriously half unfinished and buggy anyway.

Thanks :) Yeah, since playing the later games in the series on the Xbox 360 I've decided to leave is anyway. Risen 2 has really drawn me in big time, so I'm just playing that and looking forward to number 3.

You're welcome to go browse a wide variety of forums for proof if you don't believe me.
You're welcome to actually provide that proof. Burden and all that. I've been troubleshooting problems people have had with Bloodlines for years now, and I've yet to see anybody who has the exact recommended specs and can't run the game. The problem is that people don't have the exact specs as it's a really narrow window in a really wide range of options. As I said, Bloodlines is really damn picky when it comes to environment.

Also, I find your claim that there are really that many people who are, apparently, using machines still running 32bit XP rather hard to believe. Do you have any, you know, proof? Because, you know, burden again.
I never made any claims about users running 32-bit Win XP, so I'm not sure where you got that from. As far as evidence for my actual claim is concerned, please feel free to go look for it yourself - I ultimately don't care whether you believe me or not, and I'm not your personal research assistant. You can start by browsing the Steam forums if you're interested.

That's not how evidence works. If you make a claim, YOU have to provide the evidence.

That's like, argumentative reasoning 101.
I really just don't care about "burden of proof" on the internet, especially with a minimal topic like this. I made my point, and everyone else can freak out about it if they want. I'm done.

The specs say one needs a 32 bit OS. You say people have the specs yet have problems. Ergo, you claim they use 32 bit OS-es and encounter issues. Since I really doubt they would be using 98, ME, or 2000, as these are rather old and not as popular as XP, I can only assume you are saying people use 32 bit XP. The alternative would be you claiming loads more people than I imagined are running 98 or ME. For which you also need to find proof.

This is where I'm getting it from - from your exact words. Which, you know, you said.
