I just got done watching Limitless and for those who haven't seen it...here is the plot summary.
That dude from Roadtrip has a sucky life...he's lazy, his gf just left him, and he has nothing going for him. Then, he meets his ex-brother-in-law who gives him methamphetamine mixed with a small amount of LSD. The rest of the movie involves how much his life changes after being pilled up, the lengths he goes to for his next fix, and his withdrawals from said drug.
No...I'm not making this up. I mean yeah they call it something different in the movie but it's fucking meth.
You'd think there would be an epiphany somewhere about how drugs are bad for us and all that stuff everyone has been shoving down our throats for our entire lives but here comes this movie that basically says...hey kids, take drugs, IT'LL MAKE YOU THE PRESIDENT OF THE FUCKING UNITED STATES(Alluded to in the movie). There was barely any downside in the end to his drug habit. He even had enough money at the end to manufacture the drug for himself. He was healthy, is a senator, has a bangin wife, and now has an unlimited supply of supermeth. There was no tongue-in-cheek sarcasm about his success...just insert pill, aquire success.
So, given no side affects and a limitless supply, would you take the pill?
Where was the ultimate crash to the bottom that ALWAYS follows drug use?
What are all the watchdog groups doing? Other than picking on video games.
Three questions for this thread...
Oh and it was a decent movie...ironic how a movie that deals with turning on all your brainpower requires you to shut yours off to enjoy.
