Peter will most likely disappoint me again but I'll buy it anyway in hopes that Jesus will step in too perform some divine miracle and make the Fable 1 awesomeness lightning strike again and force peter to shut the fuck up

Oh, and for everyone worried about the release date I highly doubt this game will be on time, and maybe if we?re lucky Lionhead had a separate team working on Fable 2 and everyone else working on Fable 3, WAIT better yet, maybe Fable 2 was just a set up game and was purposely made half-ass in order to surprise people with Fable 3 and maybe Santa Clause is real after all and is a hardcore gamer planning to take over the industry and see to it that another shitty game is never released
LOL I was thinking the same thing. They had to put something out to see how it would run with the masses and now that they have it down they'll release the real game.

Fable 3 can work if they stop trying to appeal to casuals. You can't die, unlimited mana, all enemies only require button mashing, exp from swinging a sword can be used for spells, no real bosses, regular enemies are all weak, antagonist is one shot kill (if you feel like it).

Ugh. Maybe if he actually made a game, and not some "Good or Evil" game, he might actually make something thats decent.

I hope they employ a new story-writer.
If you play a good character in Fable you get beaten over and over, tortured and then the game pisses on your dead corpse...

I think Fable (both I and II) is s series of games that are brilliant entry-level RPG's. For example, my girlfriend and my brother refuse to play games like Oblivion, but then after playing bopth Fable games they feel like they're ready for the challenge. I also enjoy the games because they don't require too much thought to be honest. It's like the reason playing Tony Hawk's is so fun. I mean, if you've played any game since III then the game mechanic is exactly the same, but hell, we all keep buying them. I'm gonna buy Fable III and i'm gonna remain excited about it until I do.

Kick. Ass.

Fable 2 wasn't a perfect game. It had its fair share of flaws and defects, but I still greatly enjoyed it. It was just pure fun, and never really grew old. And now, Molyneux has a chance to improve on Fable 2. If he can do that, and fix the flaws that were in Fable 2...then Fable 3 really will be a game to be reckoned with.
Why are you one of the only people on Page 1 with any sense?

It's Fable. In the Napoleonic Era.

And the games were never bad, just overhyped. In fact, they were both really good when I come to think of it.

I think Microsoft's Gamescon conference was a little.........oversaturated with Fable 3 goodness. I mean, all they talked about was Fable 3, nothing else. Just seemed a little.....eh.

Still, good for all the people who liked the first Fable games. I like the idea that first you were puny, then you gained power, and then finally you become the most powerful man in Albion. Interesting concept.
Maybe it's because that's all they've got going for them for next year, which is a bit sad really.

Anyway, I'll play it, I'm just making sure that I avoid every shred of Fable 3 news as a ways not to get Moly-Syndrome; Lionhead's latest disease that makes you think they're actually going to live up to their words.

I'm a little disappointed that they didn't go with this as their trailer:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.85022#1226017

But, knowing Molyneaux's track record, I'm thinking that spoof trailer will still apply to Fable 3. Now with 50% more monarchy.

Here's hoping that Cake Farter and Robot Lincoln are playable classes this time.

I really liked Fable and mostly liked Fable 2. However, Fable 2 had the most bugs I've ever seen in a game. It was insane. On one character, I had the unmoving time bug, the chairs on the hands bug, the no sales bug, and the random divorce bug. Come on, Peter, let's try to do some bug fixes before we send a game out.

Don't worry guys, this is just a sick, twisted freak of nature sprouting from Peter Molyneux's love of pot and emotional masturbation. If you ignore it, it'll die.

If you can actually do some cool things once you obtain the throne, that would give this game some definite hype. I really enjoyed the lightheartedness and casual play of the first, never tried the second though as I bought a Wii for my kid and I to play. Funny how a casual, easygoing game like this one doesn't get released on the Wii.

I'm just waiting for Peter to promise the moon again... and deliver something vaguely moon-shaped instead.

You know what I really want? A game where the term epic battle really comes into it. Lord of the rings was the closest thing which came to a true massive battle and since then there hasn't been much like it. In oblivion I wanted a massive 500 man army or something ridiculous to hold off the gates of hell, but all we got was ten men stopping the worst all out invasion since... well ever.

The nine seas surround Albion, but to the North is the Wasteland. Some say there's nothing, and others that it is Jack of Blade's true home. The old Scribes say that it was once a mighty empire before the glaciers came. Libraries of arcane knowledge still exist beneath the ice, and those who once lived there sleep deeply beneath the cold blanket, ready to reawaken when the time comes and Albion is ruled again by one man.

I guess "no-one's done it this way since the early '90s" makes it unique.

I still need to finish Fable 2. I'll wait for game-play footage to decide whether or not I want to compete with other online players to attempt to rule Albion.
