OT: People like her? People enjoy the show? I watch it, it's pretty interesting and it's one of the better top 5 things I've seen. Better than that show which must not be discussed.

She does different kinds of lists and her personality makes it interesting. Top 5 viruses in games was pretty cool and I learned something from it. What did the -censored- list? Top 5 FPS? Boring.

Look, I don't know Lisa Foiles. I bet if I ever met her in person I'd probably think she was pretty cool. But why does she have a show? I mean, a top 5 where she lists random things? What exactly is she adding to that genre that no one else is? Her show isn't particularly funny, she doesn't have like a clever twist on the format, it's just a list of 5 things she likes or dislikes! What exactly is she adding to the internet that cracked.com isn't adding literally ever day?

There are a lot of lists on the Internet; not all of them are good. Case in point: Buzzfeed. Why the hell do we have that site, when Cracked.com exists, huh? It doesn't even include any creative content other than 'LOOK MY PICTURE IS RELEVANT TO TOPIC HURHURHURRR'.

Lisa's lists are actually pretty decent; her presentation is interesting, and even if I don't agree with her choices, she tries to explain them in a concise, informative, and humorous manner.

Also, boobs.

Yeah that's a strange one to me.

To be honest, I watched the first couple of random lists of hers... and then I just forgot about it.

What bothers me is that same, fake, face-cramp-inducing grin she sports every week. I hold no personal grudge against her, I am just not interested in her lists... and that fake grin makes my teeth hurt.

But as long as people like and watch her material - absolutely go for it.

I've become bored with the Feed Dump bunch, their humour makes me cringe. The singing and rhyming duo of snarky doom boils my brain and makes my ears lock up, Moviebob sends me into hysterical frenzy when he goes beyond movies and Yahtzee's stance when it comes to politics annoys and infuriates me, but I still watch their material week after week and wouldn't want to miss it. There's plenty of material that tingles me tastebuds, so everything is A-OK. Contrary to what some people will want to make you believe, we're just not all the same, and that's perfectly fine. It's what makes being human so much fun.

i agree. i watched a few episodes before and have no desire to watch more, now that shes back. shes an attractive girl and this site has a lot of teenage boys on it. thats about it. still, even though i dont enjoy her show and would rather have more interesting content, im not being forced to watch it and her existence on this site is not harming me in any way. i just consider her show to be dumb but harmless and just because i dont like it, theres no reason i should try to stand in the way of other people who do like it.

I like it.

It doesn't score the laugh-out-loud funny as often as LRR, but it makes me chuckle a few times more often than not. The old version took a while to get up to speed and got better over time; I'm willing to give a chance that the post-hiatus version will as well.

It's also pretty much one person's work, and a lot of effort and personality go into it. It's not at all easy to put out a show week after week, and I genuinely think Lisa Foiles does a good job.

And because it's apparently a thing that needs to be explained... I am neither an insecure teenager wishing I could have relations with the hostess nor someone who needs to stroke my own ego by exhibiting a condescending attitude towards those who I believe want to have relations with the hostess.

Yes. She's pretty. And that's okay. Moooove along.

Lisa Foiles is a genuinely delightful person. If you'll allow me, I shall now explain how she is much more watchable than the Escapist's other female video host, Ashley Esqueda.

Now, this has nothing to do with their level of hotness. That doesn't matter and never will. But it is my opinion that Lisa is much more lively than Ashley. The former puts so much energy into her performance and exudes joy and excitement, whereas the latter just smiles as she reads from the script she memorised. I'm sure Ashley is a genuine girl gamer, but when I watch her vids all I can think of is plastic.

Few people on the internet have such personality and charm as our Top Five gal pal, and that's why we love her.

I was discussing this before, and came to the conclusion that it was because she's funny, silly and sweet, which on a site mainly composed of the rather sarcastic and cynical, is somewhat unique. That and Top 5 lists, while not the most unique thing in all the world, do allow for debates to be had about what people would have instead of X number, and how they agreed with Y number.

The fact that she is pretty to look at isn't a bad thing either, although admittedly, it does make the comments rather weird sometimes.

And her making these type of videos creates this sort of "girl down next door" effect, and people start having E crushes.

EDIT: I also find it funny that people are so openly supportive of her despite raging against objectification in videogames. Is it ok because its her own choice, while videogame characters can't choose by themselves?

Her audience is probably comprised of 3 different groups.

Group 1 is the group that finds her hot and wants to bang her. They don't really care what she has to say, they just like to stare at the screen and think "man, I wish I had a girlfriend that played video games."

Group 2 are people who watch pretty much everything on the Escapist and genuinely enjoy the show.

Group 3 are people who don't follow anyone on youtube or any other site, and therefore think the top 5 list thing is clever and unique because they don't follow other people who do them constantly.

I'm kind of a mix of 1 and 2. I like most things on the escapist, I genuinely enjoy the show as I do think it's quite funny at times, I love hearing Anamanaguchi in the background, and she has quite a pleasant voice, so I can listen to her in the background if I'm playing a game and not really that into it.

It's just a silly little show that's an enjoyable way to spend a couple of spare minutes. Nothing to do... Listen to an attractive girl talk about things I like in an amusing manner, you say? Why not!
