Good show sire, good show indeed.
Well, P-Orridge scooped the "other" category by virtue of it being a fairly exclusive club. Not too many transgender singers out there outside the gay clubbing scene.

Still, it's nice to see him/her included anywhere. Rarely hear Throbbing Gristle mentioned much anymore.
They're as active as ever, sure most people don't care, but then I would be worried about a society that en masse decided to like Throbbing Gristle. That new album of theirs they put out a couple years back is probably the best thing they've ever done. I was skeptical but it definitely exceeded all expectations. Not often you get a reformation and it doesn't suck.

I'm very much hoping when Godflesh reform they don't suck.

Anyway, I haven't heard that album yet, I'll check it out. The only ones I really listened to at length was the Annual reports and 20 Jazz Funk Greats.

The definition of 'difficult' music.
It's really good, you'll be surprised. So wrong yet so brilliant.

I'm hoping new Godflesh is good too, they can be fairly hit and miss. Crossing my fingers for another "Streetcleaner" but with modern production. The Swans reformation has got me excited too, that should be awesome with any luck.

Honestly?
Keyboard - Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater)
Guitar - John Petrucci (Dream Theater)
Drum - Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater)
Bass Guitar - John Myung (Dream Theater)
Vocals - Rob Halford (Judas Priest)

The composition of Dream Theater songs is just amazing. The reason it is my favourite bands. But composition isn't huge with vocals lol. And Halford has such an amazing varied voice, so I'll say him.

Yes, I'd love to go to one of their concerts, but I don't really feel like listening to music so loud I have to go to hospital.
It was only really the 1982-87 era Swans that were like that. The band members survived it (just) so you can too. Just wear plugs and you'll be okay. Concerts these days are quieter across the board thanks to improvements in PA technology anyway. I'd see Swans if I ever got the chance but the likelihood of them getting over to where I live isn't high.

Guitar: Dimebag Darrel, a no-brainer. (Pantera, Damageplan)
Bass: Bassists don't generally stand out - the only one I've ever heard and thought "wow there's the bass" is Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) so he'll have to do.
Drums: Dave McClain (Machine Head)
Vocals (metal): Probably Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down), but James Hetfield (Metallica) should probably get a mention here.
Vocals (other): I don't know which singers are which in this band, so I'm just gonna go ahead and say everyone from TV on the Radio.
Keyboards: Ray Charles. You know.

Also, I like how nearly all the posters is a metal fan. Either fans of other genres don't know the names of the musicians, or everyone at the escapist is a metalhead. WOOARGH!

I'm glad someone else mentioned Victor Wooten. That man is a god on the electric bass.
My other choices:
Guitar: Stevie Ray Vaughan
Drums: Neil Peart (Rush)
