I've been looking for some new games for my DS. I have all the basics: Mario, Contra, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger and those kind of things, but I was wondering if anyone could give some suggestions for some of the little known titles that are really good but fly under the radar. That would help me out alot.

Chibi Robo Park Patrol is a pretty enjoyable time, and it will easily eat up days of your time. the only thing i DESPISE about it is that for the voices, they jst record 5 or so nonsense phrases and jumble them together when the character is talking. the one that got me is this stupid kid whining about the park, and the french...guy, wh says "tickety boo" every freaking sentence. it is MUCH more irritating than you think. oh, and you need the sound on, it relies on music to progress.

Lost Magic- Draw runes to cast magic in this RPG/RTS, it won't help. You're doomed.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker- Screw the plot, make monsters.
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime- You are the slime. Bounce and pilot your tank toward victory.
Lunar Knights- Sasuke and Naruto fight vampires with a space ship
Bangai-O Spirits- Try to dodge the bullets. I dare you.
Izuna 2- The least serious ninjas ever play a roguelike game.

I'd recommend Custom Robo Arena, it's a brilliant little rpg, in which you battlle customisable robots, all the fighting is hack and slash style though, rather than turn based

and there's also the cooking mama's, the pokemon mystery dungeons, Rocket Slime, Locks quest (tower defense/action/) metroid prime hunters, megaman ZX and it's sequel, ZX advent, N+, The world ends with you, Sonic chronicles of the dark brotherhood (its a fairly engaging rpg, with a decent plot, but mute it, the sounds are cartoony and unfitting with the set pieces). really, i could go on some more, but it really depends on what you like. though this should be a decent list to get you started ;)

Damn, that was my first suggestion. Scurge: Hive is pretty damn sweet too. It's like an isometric Metroid. Got it for about $8 (or was it $12?) on Amazon per a recommendation from a thread on Something Awful. I lost a bit of steam while playing it, but I got far enough to see it was certainly one of the more underrated games on the DS.

Super Robot Taisen OG Saga:Endless Frontier

Its one of the best JRPGs iv ever played.
Its got a fun and engaging battle system that keeps it from getting old too quickly, great Artwork, an awesome story, great and well rounded characters, an amazing sense of humer(who says that party members haft to actually like each other?), cool specials/Skills/Overdrives, and some absolutely INCREDIBLE music.

Seriously give it a try.
Its a good game and will last you a nice while as well.

Get Avalon Code!

It is a thoroughly enjoyable game from start to finish. If you havent heard of it you should look it up. The basic premise is that the world is scheduled to be destroyed and you have to choose from the world what will be saved. You get a book which you can use on people and enemies which shows you their characteristics and what not. You can then use the book to remove characteristics and what not. The earliest example I remember is when you meet a goblin. It has a "stone" characteristic making it have very high defense, so you use your book to remove the "stone" making it normal again. The "stone" can then be used for other things such as upgrading your weapons. You can also replace the goblins "stone" with say, "poison" which would make it much weaker and do some damage. This is definately one of those overlooked gems on the DS.

God dang it, you beat me to it x-x...

but ha! I'll add in some gameplay footage to one-up you.

So my opinion on the game is pretty much the same as Gigaguys', but I really have to flaunt the gameplay because its just so fun and customizable compared to most JRPGs, that and its fun to watch.

Here is pretty much a gameplay video of someone showing off some combos.

Showing off is pretty much what the characters are doing as well.
Another great thing about the game is how stylized and flashy each characters Skill Set becomes.
Even their Support Skills are fun to watch.

Like Suzuka riding Jyaki-Gun-Oh or Kaguya slashing through a set of cards that usually yields criticals.

Advance Wars!

I haven't played the Dual Strike one but I have Day of Ruin and it is awesome. Dual strike is a more cartoony style while Day of Ruin is a grittier more somber tone. Either way it's a super addicting turn based strategy game with units and tactics galore.

I have played both Days of Ruin and Duel Strike (I think my dog ate my Duel Strike) but yeah I like Days of Ruin A LOT better. It is definately one of the best war games out there I am stuck on Waylon's Last Flight. FUCK YOU WAYLON FUCK YOU AND YOUR STUPID AIRPLANES.

I recommend the "Phoenix Wright" games, and highly recommend "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor". If you don't have it already, buy "Dragon Quest IX". More people need to buy and play that game. I have over 100+ hours into it. It's my kind of RPG; simple, turn-based and very enjoyable.

Go with Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth Ace Attorney games.
Yes, these are excellent games. The sheer hilarity of a lawyer making his point with speedlines rushing by is well worth the ten bucks.

Please, oh please, buy Magical Starsign. That game is the best RPG I ever played on the DS. It's about magic and aliens!
