Without it Trip-Hop bands such as Portishead and Massive Attack wouldn't exist, as the genre takes a lot of the inspiration and samples from Rap music, hence the name. That's not even mentioning stuff like the British Grime scene, which is super popular nowadays, and something that wouldn't of existed if not for Hip-Hop.jaketaz said:People that don't think rap is music. By every technical definition, opinions of professional musicians in the industry, conservatories/music schools, dictionary definitions, and even in historical context, it absolutely inarguably IS music. It's fine if you don't like it, you're still wrong, it's music.
I don't even like Hip-Hop that much, and still it's derivative forms have given me a lot of great music.
Rap is music in the same way that Dub-Step is music. all the pieces are there, its just that it sounds shit
OP - something that annoys me is when people feel insecure about their terrible taste of music, and feel they need to justify it. BAM!
