And one more thing from me: Gun kills in aerial combat games. Going in old-school style, and chewing the enemy planes up with a hail of lead.

There's just something viscerally satisfying about watching enemy planes come apart under a barrage of bullets. I much prefer WWII-era flight games, Spitfires and 109s; but bagging gun kills in Ace Combat is glorious. Especially against some enemy douchebag that's been dodging my missiles. Dodge THIS, asshole!

Characters actually altering their stride when going up slopes or stairs. I don't mean just slowing down or speeding up (looking at you, Skyrim), I mean their actual animation changes. I'm not going to pretend that it's easy. Believe me, I understand that it's much simpler, time/cost effective, and probably memory efficient to simply treat a flight of stairs like a triangle as far as the collision boxes are concerned and either just slow down the player or say "no, you can't climb that". I get that, just like I get that slapping a UVW on a simple rectangle is a much smarter way to make a non-interactive keyboard than actually making all those individual buttons and lining them up. That being said, when I played Dragon Age: Inquisition, I was thrilled to see that my character would actually fall back and slide down steep hills instead of hitting an invisible wall or just walking down them.

For me that would be decapitations in Fable and the lost chapters. Bonus points if you do it with a bow.

The shotgun from the original doom and the sound effect they gave the legendary pistol in fable 2 when it fired. Oh, what a sexy sound.

Dude, have you seen the animated short, "Paths of Hate"? Sounds like it was made for you lol.

For me, it would be parrying in Street Fighter III: Third Strike. It's a simple mechanic but it bucks conventions established since Street Fighter 1 and it feels DAMN rewarding to pull off. Fireballs, ariel counters, supers, it all feels great when you land A SFIII parry.

Actually, I have seen that one before, but thanks for reminding me.

I just wish someone could make a WWII flight game with something similar to AC: Assault Horizon's "Steel Carnage" system. Now THAT would be EPIC.

Walking through snow and hearing the crunching sound.

Just makes my ears happy to hear it.
Bonus points if you actually leave a trail through deep snow rather then a couple of foot prints.

Dead body permanence. I hate it when they just disappear, even if they're not a gameplay factor.
