Hey guys ive just moved to brighton, like today, and I'm living by myself for the first time. I was wondering if any of you escapists are in Brighton (in the uk) and had any tips about good places to visit.
Also if any of you guys had an advice about living alone for the first time :p
And fill us all in with your silly stories hehe.

Yeah, I know when you live alone it sounds like a good idea to walk around naked and shit but dude. No. You do not want your bare ass all over your stuff. You really don't want an apartment that smells like dude ass. (unless you are gay in which case you would enjoy it but that is beside the point)
The classy method is wearing a robe and slippers all the time. Like Hugh Hefner does. XD

Buy a clothes horse to dry your clothes on. Otherwise they don't air right and they will smell like mould. This I discovered the hard way.

And for pity's sake please wash up as you go along. I went to visit my boyfriend at his old uni house which he shared with three other guys. I decided to do something nice and do some tidying which he was in a lecture. It took me three hours to wash up. THREE HOURS!!! Nearly put me in therapy.

Oh, and good luck!

You actually have to clean lightswitches! Shocker I know.
Also make sure you designate a 'man drawer' that has manly necessities in it:
pens that don't work
screwdrivers
no more nails
a pack of cards (etc.)

The brilliance of living alone is that you can live in an ungodly mess. Take advantage of this. If you can't build a fortress from those empty pizza boxes, you're not doing it right.

The same goes for doorknobs/doorhandles. Might be worth mentioning since people who forget the lightswitches might just forget the doorknobs and doorhandles as well.

Walking around naked is pretty cool. But a robe and shorts is better (and warmer, it is Brighton)

The problem with living alone is it's pretty boring. All the fun comes from having mates over and having them sleep in your shower and whatnot. I lived by myself for a few years and it's ok. Some advice though that kept me alive. All of this true and can be expanded on if you wish.

-Always keep an emergency kit used only in dire need to contain:

beans
whiskey
tinfoil
pornography
biscuits

-inviting strange girls home may seem like a good idea but don't be suprised if they show up the next day with their drug dealing boyfriends and start ripping up your books for roach material.

-If your landlady/lord wants you to pay for rent with sex, contact your local council office. You may have rent allowance.

-If you cannot remember how long that egg has been in the fridge, it's too long.

-Ajax CAN be used as washing up liquid.

-Peruse your local bakery just before closing dressed in your worst clothes. Pity can fill many a belly.

-Occasionally bring in a third party consultant regarding the odor in your flat.

-Febreeze CAN be used as deodorant

-Form a detailed map regarding take away and delivery suppliers in your area. If needed go down with gifts and introduce yourself to ensure happy relations over the coming months and years.

-Washing up liquid CAN be used as Shampoo

-Shampoo CANNOT be used as alcohol.

Clean any dirty dishes within 2 days, 3 maximum.
Always keep a spare of everything in the house.
Don't stay up late masturbating or you'll have trouble getting up in the morning.
Try to have a similar number of forks and knives.
Have enough cups/glasses around the house.
Bring out the garbage.
Open the windows after showering so that the humidity can escape.
Have a few cans of vegetables (beans, peas, corn), just in case.

Living alone is alright. I've just moved into my apartment last week for college. It's alright. A lot of free time and stuff to clean. I usually get tempted to read Networking:CCNA Exploration

Do chores regularly. You don't want to hoover/clean everything for hours after a few months :p As for where to go in Brighton you're pretty much spoiled for choice. Most pubs do regular open mic nights so I spent most of my evenings going to those. There are pubs EVERYWHERE. You're bound to find some where that caters to your tastes :)

Fixed ;)
Extra points if you name it Sonic.

OT: Never living alone before, but a loyal pet cures boredom incredibly.

It took me a few years to realize this, but you should actually clean about once every week or so. There's dust everywhere. And your electronics are very eager to engulf as much of it as possible.

Don't use the coffee pot to pour water into the 'tank' when you're making coffee. Use some other (clean) bowl to do that. There's always a little coffee in the pot and it will accumulate into the water tank, making it disgustingly brown and unclean.

Get a few hand towels and wash them occasionally. Don't just use one for everything.

And finally, get backup fuses (assuming there are those replaceable ones in your apartment) and batteries for the fire alarm.
